With the launch of Season 1 in Marvel Rivals, a fresh event titled Midnight Features has debuted. This event offers various rewards that are distinct from the Battle Pass and are accessible to all players. Keep in mind that the rewards will change as the season progresses, so it’s a good idea to stay updated throughout the duration of the season.
The Midnight Features event provides a different avenue for Marvel Rivals players to earn rewards without needing to spend any money on the game. However, to claim these rewards, you must complete the event challenges as they are set. This can be tricky if you can’t acquire the required hero for a specific challenge.
Understanding the Midnight Features Event
What It Is & How to Join
The Midnight Features Event involves five different investigations that players must complete, each consisting of sub-challenges. You will earn smaller rewards for completing individual challenges, while successfully finishing an entire investigation will reward you with something bigger.
The Midnight Features Event kicked off on January 10, 2025, and will wrap up on February 7, 2025.
Each investigation comprises three challenges, and players must complete all of them to unlock the final reward. Although this event operates separately from the Battle Pass, you can earn Chrono Tokens, which can be used to access various parts of the Battle Pass during the event.

Recent leaks suggest that five new heroes could be added to the Marvel Rivals lineup, featuring notable figures like Professor X and Locus.
To complete all the challenges, you’ll need to use the newly included Fantastic Four heroes in specific modes within Marvel Rivals. These characters can be played in Competitive, Quick Match, or Practice vs. AI modes, and you must play them for the majority of the matches for some challenges.

Understanding When Investigations Unlock Is Key
At present, two investigations are open, with additional ones set to unlock later. Each investigation rewards players with a Gallery Card in addition to rewards from the challenges.

Unlike some Daily Missions and other Challenges in Marvel Rivals, you will need to return to the Event screen to collect your rewards. If there are rewards awaiting collection, a small lightning bolt symbol will appear above the Event button.

Free Rewards Are the Highlight of Any Event
While there’s no word yet on the rewards for the final three investigations, we do know the rewards for the first two. Here are the grand prizes:
- Investigation 1: Thicker Than Blood Gallery Card
- Investigation 2: Ancient Game Gallery Card
- Investigation 3: Fall of Midtown Gallery Card
- Investigation 4: Midnight Missions Gallery Card
- Investigation 5: Reborn from Ragnarok Thor Costume
The last investigation offers the grand prize of the entire event, providing you a new skin for Thor in Marvel Rivals. The skin, which made its first appearance in Thor (2007) #1, can be seen in the image above. While it is an interesting item amidst the darker themed rewards of the event, it is notable that Loki is receiving a costume in the Battle Pass, hence Thor may also get a new skin during Season 1. While it would have been great to have a more thematic costume, the idea of rebirth does imply a prior demise. The Gallery Cards turn out to be quite appealing and serve as an added bonus to the event.

This guide will be updated as more investigations become available. It’s a fantastic opportunity to collect extra blue Units to save for more skins and to complete the Battle Pass more quickly, so you’re not scrambling to finish everything at the end of the season.
Keep a lookout for the Midnight Features Event missions since this event won’t last as long as the season itself. It’s important to collect these rewards before they disappear for good in Marvel Rivals.
