One of the upcoming events in Pokémon GO for November 2025 is called High Voltage. During this event, players will have the chance to catch a very rare shiny version of a hard-to-find Pokémon. Also, several other Pokémon that usually rarely appear will be more common, giving you more options to add to your team. Plus, you can earn many rewards by finding these Pokémon during the event.
Unlike previous events, such as the Enchanted Hollow earlier this month, there won’t be any new raid bosses during High Voltage. This is probably because the Dynamax Eevee Max Battle Weekend happens at the same time, which adds extra challenges for players. Fortunately, you will have plenty of time to complete High Voltage’s tasks and earn rewards before focusing on the Max Battle.
High Voltage Event Schedule
The event runs from Tuesday, November 18, 2025, to Saturday, November 22, 2025. It starts at 10:00 AM and ends at 8:00 PM local time each day. During this period, special bonuses will be active whenever you log in, increasing your chances of encountering the featured Pokémon.
Here are the two bonuses available each day during High Voltage:
- Double Catch XP for “Nice” or better throws
- Double Stardust for catching any Pokémon
With recent updates to the game changing how much experience is needed to level up, earning double XP is a big help. More Stardust can also make it easier to power up your Pokémon or perform other tasks, all just by catching Pokémon like you normally do.
All-New Pokémon and Spawn Rates
The main theme of High Voltage is Electric-type Pokémon, including many that don’t evolve from their original forms. The big debut is Shiny Morpeko, a Pokémon with both Electric and Dark types that switches between two modes — Full Belly and Hangry. Since it already has two forms, this new shiny adds two more options, making it a very collectible Pokémon to add to your collection.
During the event, four other Pokémon will be featured. Although they’ve been in the game before, their spawn rates will be higher, making it easier to find them—especially rare encounters that were hard to get before. These Pokémon are:
- Emolga (Electric/Flying)
- Dedenne (Electric/Fairy)
- Togedemaru (Electric/Steel)
- Shinx (Electric)
Emolga, Dedenne, and Togedemaru can also be shiny, similar to Morpeko. Using an Incense or Lure can increase their appearances, giving you a better chance to catch a shiny version before the event ends.
Challenges and Rewards
Throughout High Voltage, you can complete special challenges to earn more Pokémon encounters. These are tied to Timed Research tasks, which ask you to do simple activities like catching Pokémon, using items, or battling trainers. Some Pokémon are only available through these research tasks, making them easier to find than in the wild. The Pokémon that can only be caught through these tasks are:
- Magnemite (Electric/Steel)
- Yamper (Electric)
- Morpeko (Electric/Dark)
Timed Research is especially useful for finding shiny Morpeko, which debuts during this event. While Magnemite can also appear shiny through Research, Yamper cannot. Since these Pokémon don’t often spawn in the wild, catching them during the event is a great opportunity.
Players can also pay about $4.99 to buy extra Timed Research. This grants two Premium Battle Passes and other rewards, including encounters with the featured Pokémon and a powerful Elite Charged TM.
All Research tasks will expire when the event ends, so be sure to complete them beforehand. Finishing Collection Challenges during High Voltage can also give you extra items like Stardust, XP, and a chance to encounter Morpeko again.
Those who participate in the Battle League or take snapshots in the game may also have a chance to find shiny Morpeko. With so many opportunities to catch rare Pokémon, this event is one you’ll definitely want to join.
