Like most multiplayer shooter games, Killing Floor 3 offers a range of character classes called Specialists. Many players choose roles like tank or support, but some prefer a balanced option that makes it easy for newcomers to get started. The Commando is perfect for this.
Commando is the default class in Killing Floor 3. It comes with a standard assault rifle, pistol, and grenades, which are typical for this genre. While it’s not the most daring choice, you can still be very useful in your team. Here’s the best way to develop your Commando skills.
Best Commando Skills
You earn experience as you play regularly, unlocking new ability levels. It’s best to focus on skills that boost your damage, helping you handle Zed hordes more efficiently.

Best Commando Weapons
Your starting weapon, the X295 Wraith, is reliable with decent ammo and damage. You can improve it by customizing with mods suited to your style. Equipping it with mods like armor-piercing rounds and a fast action receiver will boost damage, penetration, and firing speed. These upgrades make the weapon more effective without costing too much in the midgame.
Best Late-Game Weapons
For the late game, both the SCAR EIR and Knightsbridge work well. The SCAR deals more damage overall, while the Knightsbridge has a larger ammo capacity. If you’re playing multiplayer, using the SCAR can help you kill enemies quickly, supported by teammates who can share extra ammo. During solo play, the Knightsbridge is better suited to avoid running out of bullets.
For modifications, grab armor-piercing rounds for the SCAR to increase damage, or a powered box mag for the Knightsbridge for faster reloading.
