If you’re searching for an exciting Celebi ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket, you’ll find plenty of interesting options emerging in the current meta. While there isn’t a single Celebi deck that dominates, multiple strong variants are still being explored. Nevertheless, there are some common strategies that can help you determine which deck fits your playstyle best.

Grass-type decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket haven’t been as formidable until the release of Mythical Island. Two key cards, Celebi ex and Serperior, have significantly impacted how players view these decks. Both cards offer ways to enhance your overall power and can inflict substantial damage when used effectively together, making them a powerful combo for your Celebi ex deck.

Celebi Deck Cards List

Best Cards, Suggestions & Substitutions

This deck offers a lot of potential, but it also comes with risks. Similar to the Misty card, Celebi ex depends on coin flips for major moves. However, Celebi ex has the advantage of allowing players to improve their odds, making those coin flips more predictable. Serperior enhances this further with its ability.

Lilligant is currently my favorite choice because it enables you to attach extra Energy to a benched Pokémon, helping to load up your Celebi ex before bringing it into action. It can also assist with getting Serperior set up, although Serperior isn’t meant to be the main attacker.

Other players are exploring different combinations, including:

  • Exeggcute/Exeggutor/Exeggutor ex (Genetic Apex)
  • Exeggcute/Exeggutor (Mythical Island)
  • Support cards like Sabrina or X Speed

Exeggcute is one of several Pokémon that received upgraded versions in Mythical Island. Players have been testing both variants; one is a little less energy-intensive but has a lower potential damage output. The Exeggcute from Mythical Island can even generate Energy with no cost to attacks, which can be beneficial for powering up its evolved forms.

Alternatively, some players are opting to go with just Serperior and Celebi ex, backed by numerous support cards to streamline their strategy. This can enhance consistency and make it easier for you to get your setup going, but exploring other options is definitely worthwhile.

Best Strategy to Win with a Celebi Ex Deck

Striking Hard & Fast While Evading Heavy Hitters

Celebi ex alt art variants in Pokemon TCG Pocket

One crucial aspect to remember is that this deck has limited damage output. None of the Pokémon in these builds can absorb much damage, making strong adversaries like Pikachu ex and Mewtwo ex significant threats. Erika helps alleviate some of this, but speed is vital to avoid those heavy hitters.

Quickly getting Serperior onto the bench is essential to minimize Energy costs efficiently. Sabrina is another support card that can help push immediate threats back to the bench, allowing you to claim victory.

Players should keep Serperior on the bench to absorb as little damage as possible to maintain the Energy effect’s advantage.

The downside of this deck is that while it can achieve high damage, it carries the risk of being inconsistent. Celebi ex’s reliance on coin flips adds a gamble element to each attack. However, the more Energy attached to Celebi ex, the higher your chances of success, maximizing those damage potentials.

Like any deck, playing comes with its risks. While this Celebi ex deck might feel more like a gamble than others, players can harness synergy to minimize these risks. Luckily, Celebi ex doesn’t require evolution, allowing you to hit the ground running in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
