Transformers Fans Want Classic Games Back
For a long time, Transformers fans have been hoping that Activision would bring back some older games, especially High Moon Studios’ Transformers: War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron from the Xbox 360 era. Even though there have been many rumors about this, the games still haven’t been re-released.
To help out, video game archivist Rohan Kar took the initiative to not only bring back War for Cybertron but also “remaster” it. This version now has better graphics that make the 2010 game look like a modern title in 4K at 60 frames per second.
The remastered game looks really good, and there’s even a new intro that fans are loving. This helps make up for the lack of new Transformers games lately.
Being A Transformers Fan Is Tough Right Now
While there have been plenty of toys for collectors, the same can’t be said for games. Both Fall and War for Cybertron have been removed from stores, along with Transformers: Devastation.
In January, Transformers: Reactivate was canceled, which upset fans even more, especially after some leaked gameplay. Additionally, in May, concept art for a game that combined elements of Michael Bay’s movies and the cartoon surfaced online. Lastly, there was talk about a rumored Vampire Survivors-style game, but we haven’t heard anything about that in a while.
In short, we really need a new game featuring our favorite Autobots and Decepticons. The remaster of War for Cybertron helps ease some of the disappointment.
