In The Sims 2, occults refer to the unique states of existence that Sims can adopt. Each occult brings distinct visual traits and gameplay abilities. Unlike other titles in the franchise, Sims can possess features from multiple occults, allowing for the creation of hybrids. To visibly manifest these characteristics, Sims must acquire them in a specific order. However, if a Sim tries to behave like both a Vampire and a Werewolf simultaneously, it may result in visual glitches.

Acquiring even one occult power is a challenging task, let alone attaining them all. For some characters, being born with an occult trait is essential. However, for many others, it requires a combination of chance encounters and building strong relationships with NPCs. The journey to becoming an occult involves both luck and intentional actions. If this process feels overwhelming, cheats can be used in TS2 to trigger events more directly.

To gain an occult form, players typically need to interact with specific NPCs. Most of these characters can be found in public locations within TS2, while Vampires and Werewolves tend to appear mostly at night due to their aversion to sunlight.

Players can also begin their journey as a pre-existing occult character, often part of dramatic families like the Curiouses or Smiths from Strangetown.

Vampire	Grand Vampire	Have a strong relationship with the Grand Vampire and let them bite you.
Werewolf	Leader of the Pack	Build a good relationship with the black wolf and play with them.
Witch	High Good Witch, High Evil Witch, any playable Witch Sim	Establish a good rapport with a High Witch and ask them to teach you, or as a playable Witch, cast “Magus Mutatio” on another Sim.
Zombie	Resurrect-O-Nomitron used by a friend or family member	The target Sim must be deceased. A Sim in the Paranormal career can purchase a Resurrect-O-Nomitron as a Reward and use it to revive a Sim for just 1000 Simoleons.
PlantSim	Garden Plants, any playable PlantSim	As a normal Sim, spray garden bugs 15 times or more. PlantSims can also “Grow a Plantbaby” to create a new plant toddler.

How to Create a Hybrid Occult Sim

Sims Can Have Multiple Occult Features

A standout characteristic of The Sims 2 is the ability for characters to have multiple occult traits. Typically, most characters will only have one or two during their lifespan. However, with careful planning and encounter management, it’s feasible to develop a fully multi-hybrid by the time a Sim reaches adulthood or elder status. Here’s what must be done in order:

Be born an Alien.
Spray garden bugs 15 or more times.
Get bitten by a Vampire.
Receive “Magus Mutatio” from a witch.
Die in some manner.
Have a known family member resurrect them affordably.
Get bitten by the Leader of the Pack.

Changing the sequence of these interactions can obscure certain features or diminish their significance in The Sims 2. For instance, a Werewolf who became a Witch may behave differently than a Witch who became a Werewolf if they are left to act on their own. By exerting full control, players can manage a hybrid’s behaviors, abilities, and style more effectively.
