HumanitZ challenges you to survive as long as possible. Your character starts at a random spawn point, and you’ll need to learn how your stats work and what you have to do to meet your basic needs. Surviving a zombie attack is crucial, and that’s where weapons come into play.
This guide covers a variety of weapons you can craft or find early in the game, as well as some that become available later or by chance. Here are the top weapons in HumanitZ 1.0.
### Bow
What would zombie games be without the classic bow and arrow? You can find or craft an improvised bow early on, making it a useful weapon in your toolkit. It’s quiet, so you won’t alert enemies nearby, and it can kill zombies with a single headshot.
If you’re lucky enough to find a compound bow, it’ll last longer and be more effective. Keep in mind there are both arrows and improvised arrows; the latter tend to break on impact.
### Nail Wood Weapon
While not very durable, this is an easy weapon to craft early in the game. It only needs one piece of wood and ten nails. When it breaks, just make a new one. A good hit with this weapon can take most enemies out with a headshot, making it handy against various foes.
If you find a baseball bat, you can upgrade it to a nailed bat, which is even more effective.
### Knife Spear
One of the best melee weapons you can find or craft easily, the Knife Spear offers great reach. You can quietly attack zombies from behind or use it for direct fighting. Just avoid taking it into groups, as it’s less effective in overwhelming fights.
### M41
You get a chance to try the M41 rifle during the tutorial, and it’s likely to become your favorite. It’s a powerful assault rifle, very accurate, and guaranteed one-shot kills to the head. Although ammo is limited, a solid foundation with this weapon is essential.
Be cautious: firing without a silencer will attract nearby zombies quickly.
### AK47
If you find the M4A1, the AK47 is a similar choice, with some differences. The AK47 has more spray and recoil, making it harder to control during sustained fire, but it also deals more damage if you miss the head. Your preference will depend on your play style.
Remember, treat both rifles as one shot equals one kill, especially if you want to conserve ammo.
### UMP45
This weapon appears early in the game and is good for close-range combat. It’s easier to handle than a rifle and has a high rate of fire, making it perfect for quick assaults. If you encounter a UMP45, it’s great for running and shooting, especially in chaotic situations.
### AWS
Sniper rifles like the AWS are essential in zombie games. Though rare, once you find one, you’ll have an excellent sniper with a huge scope. It’s effective against zombies from a distance and also helps take out hostile NPCs with one shot.
### Molotov
Since grenades aren’t always as effective, the Molotov cocktail is a top projectile choice. It’s easy to use, deals constant burn damage, and can take down groups of enemies with a single throw.
Craft it by mixing rag and a bottle of liquor, such as battle liquor or vodka. Remember to keep your distance when throwing to avoid catching fire yourself.
