In Final Fantasy VII Remake, each of the four playable characters can use a variety of weapons. Every weapon affects their stats differently, allowing players to customize their play style and team strategy. Each weapon also has a special ability that the character can activate while using it.
Unlike the original Final Fantasy VII, the remake encourages players to find and use every weapon in the game. In the original version, players often skipped older weapons because they didn’t see a reason to use them once better options became available. In the remake, every weapon is valuable because of its unique ability. When a weapon is used enough, that ability becomes a permanent part of the character’s skills. Also, every time a character levels up, they earn skill points. These points can be used to improve all their weapons, ensuring no weapon becomes useless as the game advances.
However, because there are many weapons, choosing the best one can be tricky. When deciding which weapon to equip, it’s important to consider each character’s role in the team. The goal is to have a team that can handle any situation, whether it’s close combat, ranged attacks, magic damage, healing, or applying buffs and debuffs.
Each character has strengths and weaknesses based on their weapons, armor, accessories, and materia. While certain weapons might be better for specific battles, the overall effectiveness of a character throughout the game often determines which weapon is best for them.
