Togekiss has quietly emerged as one of the most overlooked yet effective cards in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. It can inflict significant damage while also providing enough strategic control to endure lengthy battles. With the right combination of cards, Togekiss can become the ultimate weapon against popular meta decks. Following the introduction of the Space-Time Smackdown expansion on January 30, 2025, Togekiss became available in the Dialga and Palkia packs, allowing players to witness its impressive damage capabilities. Now that it has established itself in competitive play, an optimal deck has been developed around it.

This deck leverages the strongest supporter, tool, and item cards in the mobile game, giving it resilience and the ability to dismantle commonly played meta decks. By stepping away from the typical cards found in TCG Pocket, players can utilize Togekiss’s strengths to build a distinct and powerful deck.

Strengths of Togekiss

Overdrive Smash Delivers Heavy Damage

Togekiss is a Stage Two card from the Space-Time Smackdown expansion that requires some setup time, but the rewards are exceptional. Its move, “Overdrive Smash,” inflicts 60 damage with just two Psychic Energy. What truly sets Togekiss apart is its ability to increase damage—on the following turn, it deals an extra 60 damage, significantly enhancing its offensive capabilities. After the initial setup, Togekiss can deliver a staggering 120 damage on its second use of the attack, making it a formidable opponent.

This card possesses 140 HP, which means it requires considerable effort from opponents to take it down. This durability can be further boosted with the Giant Cape tool card, adding an extra 20 HP. Once Togekiss is in the active position, it has the strength and resilience to dominate the battlefield and lead to victory. Its pre-evolution forms also contribute valuable support, with Togetic having 80 HP to absorb damage and Togepi boasting 50 HP, making them both capable of surviving long enough for Togekiss to come into play.

Key Cards & Deck List

Synergy with Druddigon, Togekiss, Azelf, and Cynthia Forms a Powerful Deck

In my experience with this deck in TCG Pocket, Druddigon serves as an excellent wall, aiding in the setup of Togekiss. Its ability, “Rough Skin,” inflicts 20 damage on any Pokémon that attacks it, discouraging opponents from launching an assault. Additionally, equipping it with the Rocky Helmet tool card amplifies this damage to 40. This strategy allows ample time to prepare Togekiss on the bench and load it with energy, as Druddigon doesn’t require energy or an attack for its impact.

Card Name Quantity Card Type Attacks + Abilities
Togekiss 2 Stage 2 Overdrive Smash: 60 Damage + In the next turn, this Pokémon’s Overdrive Smash does +60 damage
Togetic 2 Stage 1 Fairy Wind: 40 Damage
Togepi 2 Basic Pound: 20 Damage
Azelf 1 Basic Psychic Arrow: Deals 20 damage to one of your opponent’s Pokémon.
Druddigon 2 Basic Rough Skin: If this Pokémon is active and takes damage from an attack, deal 20 damage to the attacker. Dragon Claw: 90 Damage
Leaf 1 Supporter Reduces the Retreat Cost of your Active Pokémon by 2.
Cyrus 1 Supporter Switch one of your opponent’s damaged Benched Pokémon to the Active Spot.
Cynthia 2 Supporter Provides +50 damage to your Garchomp or Togekiss attacks.
Professor’s Research 2 Supporter Draw two cards.
Giant Cape 1 Tool Increases the Pokémon’s HP by 20.
Rocky Helmet 1 Tool If the active Pokémon takes damage, the attacking Pokémon takes 20 damage in return.
Poké Ball 2 Item Add a random Basic Pokémon from your deck to your hand.
Pokémon Communication 1 Item Trade a Pokémon in your hand for a random card from your deck.

Azelf provides another way to stall for Togekiss while dealing damage to the opponent. It can inflict 20 damage to any of the opponent’s Pokémon for just one Psychic Energy, causing additional trouble for them. Once set up effectively, Cynthia or Cyrus can be utilized. Cynthia can greatly enhance attacks, adding an extra 50 damage to Togekiss, resulting in a potential 170 damage in one turn, leading to a decisive victory in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is a mobile adaptation that brings the classic TCG experience to iOS and Android devices.
