When starting your journey in Sega Football Club Champions, it’s important to focus on being a great team manager. Knowing what to prioritize first will set your club up for success from the get-go. We’ll guide you to pay attention to the most important tasks at the beginning, helping you launch your season on the right foot.
After getting comfortable with the basics, you’ll want to follow smart strategies and manage transfers wisely. Using these beginner tips will put you on the path to winning big trophies.
### Focus on Manager Missions in Career Mode
Your first priority should be increasing your manager level quickly because this unlocks useful features and upgrades. To do this, complete the Manager Tutorial Missions found in the green tab at the top-left of the home screen.
You can also progress faster by completing missions in various tours, like the East Asia Tour in Dream Team Mode. Playing and winning these matches, especially when meeting bonus conditions, will boost your growth as a manager.
### Make Investments in Your Fans Early
In Career Mode, you’ll learn that more fans mean more money. Without enough funds, improving your team becomes difficult. Early in the game, focus on investing in options that boost your fan count. Doing this in at least two of your first three investments will help you generate more revenue over time, especially as you win matches.
### Scout the Best Players You Can
Before diving deep into Career Mode, use the gacha system and free login tickets to find prime players. Scouting these top-tier athletes can add superstars like Lionel Messi or Fede Valverde to your team, greatly enhancing your squad’s talent.
Remember, you can only add two prime players each season, so choose wisely. Look for players with potential to grow and develop their skills.
### Release or Sell Players When Necessary
As your team wins matches and gains fans, you’ll face situations where you need to make tough decisions—selling players when the right offers come along. Funds and squad flexibility are critical for progress, so don’t hesitate to let go of players who are not matching your goals.
Keep in mind, you can manage only up to 30 players in your squad. It’s best to move on from declining players, allow older players to retire, and focus on building a team with the best talent available.
### Keep Your Team Fresh
Once your team is assembled, avoid overworking your players by rotating lineups for each game. Check your players’ fatigue levels through the menu at the bottom right of the team screen. Managing player stamina helps prevent burnout and keeps your squad performing at their best.
Investing in fitness improvements can slow fatigue gain but is more effective later in the season when your team is more established.
### Set Up Your Team to Counter Opponents
Planning your lineup based on the opposition is crucial. Pay attention to their formation, style, and skill level. The approach affinity system works like rock-paper-scissors: Counter beats Keep Moving, which beats Hold the Ball, which beats React, and React beats Counter.
Save your strongest lineup for tough opponents, and during matches, use halftime or the pre-match Game Plan to adapt your instructions based on the situation. Changing tactics on the fly can turn the tide of a game.
### Focus on the Overall Starter Stat Total
Your main goal should be maintaining a high overall Starter Stats rating before each match. Sometimes, this means choosing a less aggressive approach to ensure your team plays with better synergy and higher combined stats, which often tips the result in your favor.
Balancing tactics and personnel decisions is key to winning and improving your team.
### Change Tactics During Games or Set Instructions
Adjust your team’s strategy during matches by using halftime or the Game Plan menu before kickoff. Automated substitutions or strategic shifts—like switching approaches when leading or trailing—help keep your team adaptable. These pre-set instructions prepare your squad for various scenarios and can help secure victory even when facing challenging opponents.
