As you begin welcoming Pokémon to your town in Pokémon Pokopia, you’ll notice each one has a specific comfort level. These levels generally depend on how their habitat is currently set up. You can check a Pokémon’s comfort by talking to it and asking how it’s doing.
When asked, Pokémon will respond with one of four answers: Iffy, Average, Nice, or Great. Most Pokémon start out at an average comfort level when you introduce them via a habitat. However, this can decrease if you disturb their environment. To boost their comfort to Great, you’ll need to complete specific requests for them.
### How to Raise Pokémon Comfort Levels
First, each Pokémon needs to have a designated habitat. Most Pokémon you welcome will have a habitat assigned, but some, like Drifloon, may start out wandering without a home.
Once a Pokémon has a home, you’ll see a white-lined zone around its habitat. This is its designated habitat zone, where you can place furniture and other items to customize its space.
You can view this zone by clicking the right stick, and there’s a notification at the top-left corner showing which habitat you’re currently viewing. Keep in mind that multiple habitat zones can overlap, which might cause issues if the Pokémon have different preferences.
When you ask a Pokémon about its comfort, it often gives a response along with a request. These requests are usually simple, such as wanting a toy. You can craft or buy items that match their requests and add them to their habitat zone to improve their comfort.
Changes to a Pokémon’s habitat might not affect their comfort immediately, but over time, their opinion of the space will improve. To learn more about what a Pokémon prefers, you can also check its species details in your Pokédex, paying attention to its likes and favorite environments.
On the Pokémon’s Pokédex page, switch to the “Specialties and Likes” section to see what they enjoy most and their preferred habitat conditions. For example, Bellsprout prefers humid environments and likes having plenty of plants, flowers, and dirt around. To make it happier, you could plant flowers, replace non-dirt terrain blocks with dirt, or add more plants to its zone.
Pokémon also usually have a listed food preference, which you can feed them to raise their comfort level further.
Remember, you can move a Pokémon at any time by asking it to follow you and leading it to a new spot. When you arrive at its new location, talk to it to see if it wants to stay there. The key is to get to know your Pokémon and work on making their habitats as comfortable as possible.
