Select Language:

Limbus Company is an intriguing yet somewhat perplexing game, and optimizing your party with the available Identities can be quite a challenge. With more than 100 distinct variations of the 12 characters on the roster, creating your ideal team can feel daunting. However, there are key factors to consider when putting together your lineup.

In Limbus Company, the primary consideration when assembling your team should be synergy rather than sheer strength, similar to how one would approach building a character like Sunday from Honkai: Star Rail. While strong characters are certainly beneficial, having a team where characters enhance and complement each other’s abilities often leads to greater success. It’s also crucial to evaluate which Identities have the most effective E.G.O.s available, as this will guide your decisions on which banner to pull from once you have the resources.

Top Team Compositions for Limbus Company

New Players Should Focus on Bleed and Burn

Limbus Company features seven different statuses that various characters can apply: Bleed, Burn, Rupture, Poise, Charge, Sinking, and Tremor. Each of these mechanics interacts uniquely, making some statuses more suited to specific characters. However, constructing a whole team around one status may not guarantee success in every battle. For instance, certain top-tier Identities may utilize the Charge status, but their overall synergy can be too low to justify a full commitment.

You can also create teams centered around the Id types, such as the “Ring” series or “W-Corp” characters. These characters can be effective when grouped together in a full set, but many can also work well in pairs or trios along with status-focused team members. While assembling a full set may be challenging for newcomers or free-to-play players, the rewards from chapters and Mirror Dungeons can be quite generous. Generally, teams built around statuses are the most flexible and easier to put together compared to “ID series” teams, with a couple standing out as particularly powerful.

Best Bleed Team

Bleed is a beloved status effect commonly seen in gaming, and its potency is evident in Limbus Company, particularly in Mirror Dungeons. The description of Bleed states: “When attacking with a Coin, take fixed damage equal to the effect’s Potency. Then reduce its Count by 1.” This essentially means that any time an enemy with Bleed attempts an attack, they will suffer damage equal to the number of Bleed stacks they have.

In non-Mirror Dungeon encounters, it can be challenging to sustain enough Bleed stacks for maximum effectiveness. Therefore, consider mixing in Bleed with Poise or Envy when tackling story content.

To make the most of a Bleed team, focus on maximizing the frequency with which your enemy is tossing Coins. This can be achieved by encouraging them to clash or allowing them to attack you. Moreover, it’s essential to avoid staggering enemies as they won’t apply their Bleed stacks if they aren’t attacking. You will also benefit from including a character who can apply Nails, which is a secondary Bleed status effect that contributes Bleed Potency equal to its Count plus one at the start of a turn, after which the Nails Count is halved.

With all of this in mind, here are the ideal Identities to consider featuring in a six-member Bleed Team, which is the typical requirement for story content:

ID

Rationale

The One Who Grips – Faust

Faust might not inflict Bleed through her first Skill, but her remaining abilities successfully apply Nails, essential for keeping the Bleed Count high throughout battles.

The Middle Little Brother – Merusault

This particular Merusault ID inflicts Bleed Potency with every skill, making him crucial for boosting Potency and taking full advantage of your Bleed Count.

Hook Office Fixer – Hong Lu

Kurokumo Clan Wakashu – Ryoshu

Ryoshu both inflicts and capitalizes on Bleed through her passives and all of her Skills, establishing her as an outstanding damage dealer as all her skills deal increased damage to enemies affected by Bleed.

N Corp. Mittelhammer – Rodion

Rodion acts as another source for applying Nails, helping you maintain Bleed Count with all three of her skills. Additionally, her third skill gains a 5% power boost for each N. Corp ID on your team, resulting in a 10% boost if both she and Faust are present.

The Middle Little Sister – Don Quixote

This ID works well in synergy with Merusault while providing consistent Bleed stacks. Little Sister Don is also capable of using some Poise elements, making her a versatile option in a hybrid team.

Note that some of these Identities were available only through limited-time banners, so acquiring them immediately may be difficult if you’re just starting out. But the principles that make them valuable still stand, so keep an eye out for Identities that offer similar skills and passives as you create your Bleed team.

As an alternative ID to deploy for winning more Clashes, consider using The Ring Pointillist Student – Yi Sang.

Best Burn Team

Burn operates similarly to Bleed in that its effectiveness hinges on applying stacks of Burn Count and Potency, which, like Bleed, can be more challenging to maintain outside of Mirror Dungeons. However, Burn doesn’t deplete its count as swiftly as Bleed does, allowing for easier accumulation of higher Potencies. To maximize your Burn damage potential, here are the recommended IDs to incorporate:

ID

Rationale

Magic Bullet – Outis

In this composition, Outis is pivotal for applying Burn through her Dark Flame and Magic Bullet. As these two abilities stack, you will continue to rack up Burn; when using her S2, S3, and Defense skills, Dark Flame applies damage equal to the amount of Magic Bullet stacks on the target.

Dawn Office Fixer – Sinclair

Sinclair requires careful management of Sanity for optimal performance. Achieving 40 SP by utilizing his S3 and winning Clashes allows him to upgrade to a second form that deals significant damage and increases power for every Burn Count present on the target.

Liu Assoc. South Section 4 Director – Rodya

Rodya’s primary role in this composition is to inflict as much Burn Count as possible. Her S2 and S3 skills utilize targets with six or more Burn and Burn Count, enabling her to either apply three Burn stacks to two additional targets or deal 30% more damage. Overall, she’s great for maintaining Burn Count.

Liu Assoc. South Section 4 – Ishmael

Similarly, Liu Ishmael excels in applying Burn and participating in Clashes. Her S3 can unleash substantial damage boosts against opponents with elevated Burn and Burn Count, allowing her to chain skills under favorable circumstances.

Liu Assoc. South Section 6 – Meursault

Meursault is another powerhouse for stacking Burn Count through his skills and passives. His S3 gains additional Coin power against targets exhibiting a Burn Count of five or more, allowing him to deal damage and inflict additional burn when a heads Coin toss occurs.

Liu Assoc. South Section 4 – Ryōshū

Ryoshu shines in a Burn composition due to her abilities being enhanced by the presence of Burn Count on her targets. Once a target has 6+ stacks, both Ryoshu’s Clash and Coin power increase, while her S3 enjoys more significant damage with higher Count.

Like Zenless Zone Zero and other gacha games, Limbus Company features a pity system.

For passive support, consider utilizing LCB Sinner Hong Lu to help maintain SP in both story content and Mirror Dungeons, though this may prove harder in story mode due to a lack of E.G.O. Gifts to buff your team. Overall, this composition may shift as characters are updated and new ones introduced, but this list serves as a solid foundation. As with all gacha games, the “best” teams for you in Limbus Company will largely depend on your luck.
