Using Linnea correctly in team setups in Genshin Impact can make the rest of your team much stronger, especially the main damage dealer you choose to go with her. Linnea is a new 5-star character who fights with a bow. She works as both a secondary damage dealer and a support teammate for certain characters. She is the only new character introduced in Genshin Impact version 6.5.
Although Linnea isn’t from Nod-Krai — she comes from another part of Snezhnaya and acts as an advisor for the Adventurer’s Guild — she has Moonsign abilities. This makes her more powerful when teamed with characters that share the same Nod-Krai mechanics. Linnea has many skills, but her main feature is boosting the damage potential of Lunar-Crystallize teams, which is useful to keep in mind when forming your team.
Team Composition Tips for Linnea
Linnea is a Geo and Lunar-Crystallize support.
As a specialist in Lunar-Crystallize, Linnea is best when she supports characters who can trigger Geo and Hydro reactions. She works well with Geo damage dealers like Zibai, who focuses on dishing out a lot of damage through Lunar-Crystallize. To maximize her effectiveness, this team needs to keep applying Hydro consistently to trigger reactions.
Here are some example team setups for Linnea:
-
Lunar-Crystallize Team
- Linnea (Geo Support & Sub-DPS)
- Zibai (Main Geo DPS)
- Columbina (Hydro Support & Sub-DPS)
- Illuga (Geo Support & Sub-DPS)
-
Geo Damage Team
- Linnea (Geo Support & Sub-DPS)
- Navia or Itto (Geo DPS)
- Columbina (Hydro Support & Sub-DPS)
- Furina (Hydro Support & Sub-DPS) or Gorou (Geo Support)
-
F2P Friendly Lunar-Crystallize Team
- Linnea (Geo Support & Sub-DPS)
- Noelle or Ningguang (Geo DPS)
- Aino (Hydro Sub-DPS)
- Gorou (Geo Support)
In teams centered around Zibai, Columbina is a top support, and both Linnea and Columbina help increase Zibai’s damage. Using Illuga can boost overall power because most characters will be Hydro or Geo, delivering big damage boosts. The main downside is that this team relies mostly on these characters for healing, though the constant creation of Elemental Shards can provide some minor shields.
You can also swap in other Geo DPS like Navia or add a Hydro DPS, especially since Linnea has a passive that lowers enemies’ Geo Resistance while her summon is active — making Geo units excel in this setup.
Keep in mind: To get the maximum benefit from Linnea’s passive ability, you should have at least one other Moonsign character on your team. This combination can trigger up to 30% Geo Resistance reduction on enemies.
How to Use Linnea Effectively
When playing with Linnea, you’ll want to quickly swap her into your party, then use her Elemental Skill to summon Lumi, who will deal off-field Lunar-Crystallize damage. The tap version of her skill hits harder, while the continuous tap boosts her first attack but reduces damage on subsequent hits. Choose between these based on the situation and enemy type.
Her Elemental Burst keeps Lumi healing the current party member based on her Defense, so choose wisely when to activate it. While on the field, Linnea boosts her own Elemental Mastery, and if there’s another Moonsign character like Aino around, their EM also increases.
Linnea is straightforward to use and can significantly strengthen your Lunar-Crystallize teams. Even if you’re not focusing on this reaction, pairing her with Geo characters is still beneficial because of her Resistance Shred. For best results, include at least one Hydro character to trigger Lunar-Crystallize reactions consistently.
In summary: Linnea excels when working with Geo and Hydro characters and in teams that focus on Lunar-Crystallize reactions. Properly utilizing her skills and team synergy will maximize her support capabilities and boost your overall performance.
