Demon Tides builds upon the gameplay of Demon Turf by introducing new features while maintaining some of the original game’s strong points, such as the Mods system that allows you to customize Beebz’s moves.
In this game, what were called Mods are now called Talismans. These Talismans are among the most exciting collectibles in the open world. They can be equipped to alter Beebz’s abilities in various ways. Some Talismans enhance her special moves, others add entirely new actions, and some simply boost stats or serve functional purposes. There are many Talismans to find, and each one can significantly change how Beebz performs.
Some Talismans even have drawbacks if you’re looking for a challenge.
Most Talismans are discovered by exploring the world and opening chests, but some are rewarded for completing certain missions or can be bought at Midgi’s Shop on the hub boat. Each boss fight unlocks a new Talisman slot, allowing you to equip up to five Talismans at once. Now that you understand how they work, let’s explore some of the best Talismans and where to find them.
Eyetem Collector
This early-game Talisman makes collecting Eyetems much easier. When equipped, it allows you to pull Eyetems toward Beebz with the press of a button. You can unlock it by completing Mr Mint’s challenge at Jester’s Minery in the first region.
Spin Draft
The Spin move in Demon Tides can lose momentum quickly, limiting how far Beebz can go. Spin Draft fixes this by providing a slight boost upward while spinning, making it a handy early-game Talisman. You can find it in a locked chest in Radio Towers FM, which is accessible after winning an easy race.
Bat Flutter
One of the most vital Talismans, Bat Flutter essentially grants Beebz the ability to triple jump, crucial for tight platform sections. It’s available early in the game in Lofty Highways after completing a race there. You’ll likely keep this equipped throughout your playthrough.
Bat Glide
Building on Bat Flutter, Bat Glide allows Beebz to glide forward briefly by holding the jump button in bat form. This is especially useful with Flutter. You get it for completing the Night Sight challenge in the second region, unlocked by placing a Dunkelwald lightbulb in the nearby lighthouse.
Super Bat Jump
Super Bat Jump lets Beebz escape from a super jump, which is one of her best platforming moves. Being able to recover quickly makes a big difference. It’s unlocked after completing Mr Mint’s challenge in Sgudal Ruins in the final region.
Health Plus
As its name suggests, this Talismans provides one extra health segment at all times. It’s useful in the game’s tougher moments, like boss fights. Purchase it from Midgi’s Shop early on for 50 Eyetems.
Snake Boating
This Talismans dramatically increases swimming speed when in Snake form, which you’ll often be doing. You can buy it from Midgi’s Shop in Act 1 for 50 Eyetems. While there are other snake-related Talismans, this one is the most essential.
Speedy Demon
Ideal for players who frequently boost, Speedy Demon causes Beebz to leave a trail of fire and move faster. It’s earned after winning a race at Slippery Slope in the second region.
Blue Bubble
This Talismans grants a new ability by letting you shoot out a bubble that bounces on surfaces, helping reach higher areas. You can get it by completing Mr Mint’s challenge in Frosttown Ruins.
Twirl Jump
If you want Beebz to spin around before jumping, similar to Luigi’s iconic move, the Twirl Jump is perfect. It’s found in a chest at Giant’s Fire in the second region, accessible via a tunnel in Lonely Glacier.
Icy Steps
While not highly functional, Icy Steps is a cool Talismans that freezes water beneath Beebz, preventing her from needing to swim. You find it in a chest at the top of a crane in Blessed Optica, unlocked with a fragile key.
Light As A Feather
Reducing gravity to make Beebz extremely light and agile, this Talismans is found at the top of the Gravity Well in the first region. It makes platforming much easier.
Roller Skates
A favorite for many players, Roller Skates cause Beebz to skate at high speeds after boosting, sacrificing some control. You can find them in a chest at Kappernian Springs in the second region.
A few other snake-themed Talismans are available in shops, but none are as crucial as Snake Boating. There are also more Talismans not listed here, and updates will include new discoveries if they prove useful.
