Your employees are the heart and soul of Two Point Museum. Without them, exhibits would deteriorate, thieves could easily steal items, and the museum would quickly fall into disarray. While having a sufficient number of staff is crucial to manage your expanding museum, it’s equally important that your long-term employees are skilled and trained to work efficiently. To achieve this, they need to advance and increase their Rank.
In Two Point Museum, your staff members gain experience points (XP) slowly, so if you want to unlock their next skill slot more quickly, here are some effective strategies to speed up their progress.
Maximize Staff Productivity
Your staff earns XP gradually every time they complete tasks in the museum. Whether they are selling tickets, cleaning facilities, analyzing artifacts, or performing any job-related duty, they accumulate XP. Therefore, you can boost their growth by ensuring they work more and spend less time walking around or waiting.
The most efficient way for staff to gain XP is to have them work with their assigned project devices, such as a Deconstructor, Workstation, Marketing Desk, or Camera Booth. These tools provide a steady stream of XP instead of just a small amount with each guest interaction.
Make sure you have the right number of staff in each role to cover all stations without having extra employees who aren’t busy. For instance, if you have two Ticket Booths but only need one, reduce it to one and assign the other assistant to a different task. This lets the ticket seller serve a constant flow of guests, earning XP consistently rather than having both assistants handle the queue quickly and then experience idle time.
However, keep in mind that employees do need breaks eventually, and you should also ensure you have enough staff available for Expeditions. Overworking your team could lead to resignations, costing you both the investment in their training and the XP they’ve earned.
Harness the Power of Expeditions
Expeditions can take your staff away from the museum for extended periods, sometimes lasting months. However, they offer a significant XP bonus to anyone who returns safely. Before sending your staff on these journey, make sure they possess enough skills for the more challenging Expeditions. Once your employees reach around Rank 10, Expeditions will be the most efficient way to gain XP.
Consider bringing along the XP-dition Journal, which boosts the total XP earned by your team by fifteen percent. Just be sure you don’t need other items for the trip!
You can also utilize Expeditions to help lower-Rank employees improve their skills. Allow them to accompany higher-Rank staff on challenging missions, benefiting from the seasoned members’ experience to navigate dangerous events. You can also use Rank Cheese to count your group’s total Rank as ten higher, which can help when facing extreme challenges.
Special Locations for Staff XP
Each map features a unique location that can provide XP to Experts tied to that map’s theme, allowing them to level up faster. Some locations may require the Expert to be at least Rank 5 before they can visit. This helps in getting them to Rank 10, equipping them for advanced Expeditions or ensuring they can maintain things properly at home.
The After-Life Academy in the Netherworld offers several hundred XP per visit to any staff member, regardless of class. However, each course costs $25,000, so while it might be the fastest way to boost a character’s level, it can significantly deplete your museum’s funds unless you’re generating substantial income.
Understanding the Importance of Staff Rank
When staff members embark on an Expedition, their total Rank determines which events may occur. Additionally, some locations are only accessible to those with sufficient experience.
A character’s Rank is also crucial because it allows access to additional Skill slots. Although Rank itself doesn’t influence daily tasks, having more Skills can greatly enhance their efficiency in specific areas. Each character begins with one Skill slot and earns another for every five Ranks they achieve.
These Skill slots can be filled by having the employees train in the Training Room. Keep in mind that studying does not yield additional XP, so you can’t gain twice from the same effort. Furthermore, obtaining new Skills will increase their salary expectations, making them less tolerant of subpar conditions until they receive a raise.
