Sniping in Battlefield 2042 can be very satisfying if you’re willing to play more aggressively than in earlier games. The fast pace of 2042 encourages quick aiming and versatile loadouts. Luckily, there are several good sniper rifles that perform well both at close range and from a distance.
Today, we’ll examine two sniper rifles to show some effective loadouts you can use in Conquest, Breakthrough, and even Team Deathmatch. We’ll look at the Rorsch MK-4 railgun and the Gol Sniper Magnum, giving you options for top-notch sniper gameplay in 2042.
Rorsch MK-4
While the Rorsch isn’t technically a sniper, it works like one if equipped with the High Power Capacitor attachment. This modification turns the Rorsch into a hitscan railgun with a brief charge time, allowing you to take out enemies with a single shot at long distances. Add a high-zoom or thermal scope, and you’ll rack up kills easily in any game mode.
Thanks to the weapon customization system in 2042, you can also turn the Rorsch into a fully automatic rifle by adding the Stream Capacitor underbarrel attachment. If you find yourself in close-quarters combat, switching this attachment converts it into an assault rifle. Pairing this with a support class that can replenish ammo makes it effective in nearly every situation.
The weapon setup includes:
- Optic: M11 6x or TR-1 Thermal 1.25x
- Barrel: Factory
- Underbarrel: High Power Capacitor
- Magazine: Armor Piercing
While not primarily a sniper, the High Power Capacitor attachment makes the Rorsch behave like a sniper rifle, allowing precise, high-impact shots from a distance. The weapon’s short charge delay makes it ideal for quick, decisive kills.
Gol Sniper Magnum
Originally from Bad Company 2, the Gol Sniper Magnum remains one of the most reliable snipers in Battlefield 2042. It’s easy to handle, comes with a solid default scope, and can be upgraded with High-Power Ammunition to boost its range significantly. Standard attachments are sufficient for most players.
Once you unlock this rifle, landing headshots becomes quite straightforward. Feel free to experiment with different optics to match your preferred distance of engagement, whether you’re sniping from afar or picking off enemies at medium range.
