Alvida is a key character in GreedFall: The Dying World. She’s the reason you can explore the continent of Gacane, and she’s also a tough fighter. She fights using fencing weapons and offers support skills to keep your team strong. While there are faster damage dealers and better supporters elsewhere, Alvida is a versatile all-around fighter worth having in your party. Here, we’ll look at the best way to level up her skills and attributes.
Best Skills for Alvida
Alvida’s skill trees focus on offensive techniques, with some important traits that make her stand out among damage dealers. Prioritizing certain skills will give her an edge in battle.
Navigator’s Path
All skills in this path are valuable. Your main choice is the order you unlock them. The right side of the path enhances her support role by giving her access to beneficial status effects like Power and Retaliation. Be sure to get Spiritual Stamina early (found in Words of Support in the first skill tier).
Roar of Death isn’t very impactful, but Thirst for Blood — which grants Rage after a fatal hit — is very useful and should be unlocked early.
When selecting Posture Improvements, opt for the increase in Critical Chance, especially since fencing weapons benefit from critical hits.
The ultimate skill, Avatar of Destruction, is one of the most powerful in the game. After reaching Level 30, this should become your primary goal for Alvida.
Fencing Weapons
This skill tree contains many core abilities, but some can be delayed until later.
For example, Long Blade Coating isn’t very effective in tough late-game fights, so you can skip it initially.
Master Duelist and Battle Master increase damage by only a few percent and only sometimes, so they are not urgent upgrades.
When advancing in this tree, focus on reducing Action Point costs and boosting Shield-breaking abilities when enemies are bleeding.
In general, prioritize unlocking skills that give access to buffs and debuffs. Once you have those, upgrade Killing Touch and Double Blow early to maximize damage.
Alvida’s Path
Alvida’s skill path offers many effective combos. Some skills can wait until you’ve finished her main trees.
Getting Stun and Opportunistic early on is highly recommended, as they work well together.
Execution is situational and not always necessary, so it can be ignored for now.
Ambush is excellent for synergizing with bleeding effects, and Naut Agility helps greatly if you’re using dodge-focused gear.
If you equip heavier gear and your best magical deflection items, grabbing By Chance is smart — it helps keep her alive longer by restoring her health. Otherwise, this skill can be postponed.
Best Attributes for Alvida
As a fencing weapons user, prioritize giving Alvida high Agility to boost her speed and damage potential.
When agility can’t be increased, balance her stats with Endurance and Focus.
A Focus level around 12 is sufficient for most of the game since her skills aren’t resource-intensive.
Roughly, aim to cap Endurance at about 16, which helps tanks absorb damage, while healers can cover the rest.
Any extra points are best put into Perception to increase her Critical Chance, which works great with her equipment and skills.
