One of the first assault rifles you unlock in Battlefield 6 is the M277, a flexible weapon that works well both up close and at longer distances. When you add the right attachments to reduce recoil and improve handling, its performance can be even better.
With so many options, it might seem overwhelming at first to choose the best attachments for the M277. To help, here’s a recommended loadout that enhances its capabilities, along with the benefits and drawbacks of each attachment.
### Best way to reduce recoil for the M277
To get the most out of the M277, the goal is to minimize recoil as much as possible and speed up reload times. The M277 is a powerful weapon with a quick time-to-kill (TTK), capable of taking down enemies quickly, especially at short to medium range. Keeping it steady helps land more shots without wasting ammunition.
The main trade-off with this setup is that hipfire accuracy decreases sharply after 20 meters. But at close range, you’ll be able to cut through enemies quickly. When aiming down sights, the gun remains stable and accurate up to about 70 meters, making long-distance fights more manageable.
#### Attachments
| Slot | Attachment | Cost | Pros & Cons |
|——————|——————————|——–|——————————————————————————————————|
| Muzzle | Compensated Brake | 20 | Greatly reduces recoil buildup and speeds up recoil recovery for better control. However, it’s unlocked at Mastery level 28, so initial options like the Linear Comp are good alternatives. |
| Barrel | 16″ Custom Heavy Ext. | 10 | Improves accuracy over long periods and boosts hipfire accuracy by 5 points at the expense of some mobility. |
| Right Accessory | None (start with default) | N/A | The flashlight adds some blind effect and helps with hipfire recovery but isn’t worth the high mastery point cost. You can skip this for now. |
| Top Accessory | None (or laser sight as alternative) | N/A | A laser sight can boost hipfire accuracy and make it less visible to enemies. The 5 MW Red laser improves aiming without revealing your position, but costs points that could be used elsewhere. |
| Underbarrel | 6H64 Vertical Grip | 25 | Significantly reduces recoil, though it lowers movement speed and aiming speed. |
| Scope | NGFC LPVO 1-5x | 25 | Versatile scope good for medium to long-range shots. Expensive; cheaper options like the SDO 3.50x are available for better mobility. |
| Magazine | 20rnd Fast Mag | 10 | Allows you to reload faster, which is helpful when fighting multiple enemies at once. |
| Ammunition | FMJ | 5 | Standard choice for better penetration power without increasing recoil. Alternatives like Tungsten Core cost the same but raise recoil; others like Hollow Point are costly and less practical. |
| Ergonomics | Magwell Catch | 5 | Improves reload speed, reducing reload time from 2.38 seconds to about 1.99 seconds with the Fast Mag. |
