If you’re trying to survive on the surface in the dangerous world of Arc Raiders, you’ll need to fight enemies, scavenge supplies, and craft new gear to fend off the ARC. Most items currently serve a purpose, but some seem to be only for recycling or selling.
One such item is the new Ion Sputter, added with the Stella Montis map. Right now, Ion Sputters may not seem useful, but it’s a good idea to collect a few, as they could be important for future quests or used as crafting materials. Here’s what you need to know about finding them and what they’re used for.
### Where To Find Ion Sputters
Unlike many other materials in the game, Ion Sputters appear to be exclusive to the Stella Montis map. So far, the best chance to find them is by looting areas in this level. Focus your search on these locations within Stella Montis:
– Assembly
– Medical Research
– Business Center
Both Assembly and Business Center have the Exodus material type, which increases the chance of finding items like Ion Sputters. While these zones are not necessarily high-tier loot spots, the whole map seems to have better gear overall compared to other areas, so don’t worry too much about scarcity.
Additionally, Medical Research seems to be a surprisingly good place to find Epic tier materials, including Ion Sputters. Located in the southwestern part of the map, it’s packed with containers, breakable objects, and scattered loose items, making it a dense loot zone.
### Visual Guide
In the game, you’ll see Ion Sputters in loot containers and scattered around areas like Medical Research and Assembly Workshop, especially in dense loot zones. While luck can vary, players have reported having success in these locations.
### Usage of Ion Sputters
Currently, Ion Sputters don’t have a specific use. They aren’t tied to any quests, crafting recipes, or expedition steps at this time. However, you can sell them for around 6,000 coins or dismantle them to get 4 Voltage Converters and 1 Exodus Module. These materials are valuable because they are required to craft advanced gear, such as Heavy Shields or the powerful Bobcat submachine gun. Collecting Ion Sputters now can be beneficial for building up resources for future upgrades.
