The Mire is one of the earliest melee weapons introduced in the Warframe universe. This altered blade initially served as a simple weapon for melee-focused Warframes like Khora and Atlas, especially before the significant updates in 2025 that eliminated the necessity of such weapons for optimal performance.
While the Mire may not see much use these days, the introduction of its Coda variant alongside the Infested Liches has empowered it to compete with some of the game’s more formidable melee choices. In this guide, we will discuss how to acquire both the Mire and its Coda variant, highlight its distinctive features, and provide insights on effective ways to mod it.
How to Obtain the Mire
To acquire the standard Mire, you can buy the main blueprint for 15,000 Credits from the in-game marketplace. After that, you’ll need to gather a few materials from various planets to craft the weapon in your foundry; the hardest item to find will be the pair of Neural Sensors, which you can start collecting on Jupiter.
Later in your adventures, you’ll be able to purchase the Coda variant of the Mire from Eleanor’s shop in Hollvania. This version is much more powerful and doesn’t require crafting. To buy it from her, you’ll need ten Live Heartcells, a currency obtained from defeating Technocyte Coda, which are the Infested Liches in the game.
Eleanor’s shop refreshes every four days. If the Coda Mire isn’t available, just wait a few days and check back. The Coda Mire appears in Rotation A.

Both versions of the Mire are infused with Toxin damage, letting them bypass Corpus shields and apply a Toxin damage-over-time effect. This weapon is categorized as a sword and boasts strong status chance and attack speed within its class. The base version lacks critical damage stats, but the Coda version can be customized for hybrid critical/status builds using Blood Rush and melee combos effectively.
Slam attacks with this weapon have a chance to inflict Toxin, in addition to any other status effects that can occur naturally upon striking enemies. It’s important to note that status chance does not affect this proccing chance.
The Coda version of the Mire offers superior base damage, critical statistics, and status chance, along with a unique bonus. All Coda weapons from Eleanor carry an additional damage type that contributes to 24-60% of the weapon’s total damage. This means the Coda Mire can potentially deal over double the damage of the standard Mire with an ideal roll.
Mire Builds
We will discuss two builds for the Mire: one suitable for newer Tenno and another aimed at endgame Steel Path content. With the introduction of various changes to Warframe, stat sticks are now obsolete, and both builds focus on enhancing the Mire as a strong melee option.
If your aim is to boost a Warframe’s melee abilities, you can now mod that Warframe’s exalted weapon to achieve similar gains; thus, the Mire is no longer essential for optimizing specific Warframes.
Starter Build
This build is designed to optimize the Mire for use in Star Chart missions and Sorties. It may not excel in Arbitrations until you obtain Primed mods, but by then, you should have better melee options suited for more investment.
Feel free to use any Stance mod you can find. In the image above, we show Swooping Falcon, but any Stance mod will work.
We begin by enhancing our base damage using Point Strike and Spoiled Strike, which increases our total damage by over 200%. To mitigate the slower attack speed, we include mods like Quickening and Fury. Since we aren’t scaling critical damage, our next damage source will revolve around elemental mods. Obtaining Toxic Blight is beneficial, granting a 100% boost in Toxin damage and ensuring free Syndicate procs for defeating enemies. If that is unavailable, Fever Strike is a suitable alternative.
Next, combine your Toxin damage with another elemental attribute to create a mixed element. We recommend using Corrosive through the addition of an electric mod like Shocking Touch, but ideally, you want the mixed element to exploit your enemy’s weaknesses. Volcanic Edge allows access to Heat effectively. Finish the build with Reach to enhance usability.

Coda Mire |
Given the significantly improved critical stats of the Coda version of the Mire, we can now optimize the weapon for crit-focused builds. Blood Rush and Galvanized Steel (or Sacrificial) provide a substantial boost to critical chance. By leveraging Organ Shatter, you can elevate your critical multiplier to deal impressive damage after building your melee combo.
For this build, aim for different elemental combinations. We will employ Primed Fever Strike and Vicious Frost to create a Viral element, making targets more vulnerable to HP damage. Volcanic Edge can be included to easily generate Heat damage. Additionally, since you are utilizing a Lich weapon, the progenitor bonus enables you to create a combined element, such as Magnetic or Radiation, allowing for the continuance of applying another status effect on foes.
This synergy will amplify Condition Overload’s base damage multiplier, creating an overall impressive damage capacity after several hits. Slam attacks will apply Toxin intrinsically, and combining Melee Exposure will yield free Corrosive damage. When combined, these elements make for a melee weapon capable of dealing substantial damage after you’ve maximized your combo meter.
