Megabonk just dropped a spooky new update, adding a graveyard map, new weapons, enemies, bosses, additional achievements, and a creepy new character named Roberto.
Roberto, dressed in a white sheet and stylish sunglasses, might not seem like the strongest at first, but with the right setup, he could become your new favorite hero. Here’s everything you need to know about unlocking and building Roberto.
How to Unlock Roberto
If unlocking Roberto feels tough, here are some tips. To get Roberto, you need to defeat Spooky Steve and purchase the Scythe weapon, which you can find by killing Big Bob in the Graveyard map.
Spooky Steve has an enormous amount of health, making him seem nearly impossible to beat. But with the right weapons and tomes, you stand a chance. Equip these weapons and tomes with any character you’re strongest with before heading into the Graveyard to fight Spooky Steve:
- Aura — an area-of-effect weapon that damages nearby enemies.
- Frost Walker — an area-of-effect weapon that freezes and damages enemies.
- Dexecutioner — a large sword with a small chance to instantly kill enemies.
- Black Hole — creates a black hole that pulls enemies in and keeps them away from you.
Focus on leveling up and increasing your attack speed with tomes. This boosts the effectiveness of your Aura and increases the chances of your Dexecutioner hits doing massive damage. Play through the Graveyard and level up as much as you can, ideally between levels 80 and 90, collecting keys to return to the crypt and face Steve.
Once you’re strong enough, you should be able to take out Spooky Steve with your weapons and boosted level.
It may take several tries to get it just right, as unlocking Roberto is one of the toughest challenges in Megabonk.
Best Roberto Build
Roberto is a damage-dealing (DPS) character who is a bit slow and fragile at the beginning, with low health. To make him effective, you need weapons, tomes, and items that boost his attack, health, and speed. Here’s what he comes with:
- Weapon: Scythe — swings in a circular motion hitting enemies around you.
- Passive Ability: Hoarder — grants a free chest every 60 seconds.
Recommended Weapons:
- Scythe: clear enemies in a radius.
- Aura: makes the space around you dangerous to enemies when combined with the Scythe.
- Bananarang: a projectile you can throw to damage enemies as you float away.
- Chunkers: floating rocks that knock back and damage enemies.
Suggested Tomes:
- Luck: increases chances of finding high-tier items and power-ups.
- Agility: boosts movement speed.
- Size: enlarges your projectiles.
- Regen: improves health regeneration per minute.
Items to Consider:
- Clover: increases luck, helping you get better items thanks to Hoarder.
- Gym Sauce: boosts damage by 10%.
- Med Kit: enhances health regeneration, making Roberto tougher.
- Red Credit Card: boosts damage by 2.5% when opening chests; great with Hoarder.
- Green Credit Card: raises luck by 2% on chests, also great with Hoarder.
With this setup, Roberto becomes a powerful and speedy damage dealer, capable of taking on tougher enemies and bosses with proper leveling and item support.
