One of the new features in Yakuza Kiwami 3 is the Bad Boy Dragon storyline, where you’ll meet the Hasai Girls and become their leader. You’ll see this part of the main story near the end of Chapter 2.

A key part of this storyline is recruiting Baddies, who are new gang members. There are a few ways to find these new members. Below, you’ll learn about the best Baddies you can recruit early in the game and what you need to do to find them.

All of these Baddies can be recruited in Downtown Ryukyu before finishing Chapter 2.

Haruko-San

  • Energy: 2,200
  • Attack: 490
  • Defense: 540
  • Finisher: Megaton Smash
On the northeast side of Hatsumachi Street, near the entrance to the Baddies hideout, you’ll have a battle with Baddies. Defeat the enemies with your team, and you’ll be able to recruit Haruko-San. She can heal allies.

Tip: If this or any Baddie battle doesn’t appear right away, make sure you’ve completed any other available battles first.

Captain Akane

  • Energy: 2,120
  • Attack: 490
  • Defense: 1,070
  • Finisher: Hot-Blooded Homer
After winning a Baddies battle, you can find Captain Akane on East Ryukyu Boulevard near the Poppo convenience store. This fight is easier than others, so it shouldn’t be too tough.

Erika The Rookie

  • Energy: 1,780
  • Attack: 890
  • Defense: 670
  • Finisher: Ginormous Kick
You don’t have to fight Erika; you can recruit her just by talking to her. She’s located on the southwest side of town, on Yushibin Street. You’ll need to recruit several Baddies to progress in the story.

Housekeeper Mitako

  • Energy: 1,890
  • Attack: 670
  • Defense: 440
  • Finisher: Turbo Wash
Mitako is one of the first Silver Baddies you can recruit. She’s behind a Baddies battle that’s a bit more difficult. You can find her on South Kubochi Road, next to Inari Bridge.

Note: Her stats might look lower than others, but her Finisher can deal damage to many enemies and cause them to stagger.

Teruyo

  • Energy: 1,780
  • Attack: 1,070
  • Defense: 580
  • Finisher: Punishing Dance
You can recruit Teruyo after completing certain Substories — “Excuse Me!”, “Excuse Me Again!”, and “Well, Excuse YOU!” Completing the last one will automatically add her to your gang. These missions happen at the intersection of Hatsumachi Street and Inari Street, Hatsumachi, and you’ll need to finish each one in order.

Tip: Use the map’s dialogue icon to find nearby Substories.

Yoza

  • Energy: 1,960
  • Attack: 890
  • Defense: 670
  • Finisher: Cyclone Punch
Once you’ve recruited ten Baddies and visited your hideout with Tsubasa, you’ll participate in Turf Wars — large battles against rival gangs. During the first Turf War, “Islander Defense Squad,” you’ll recruit Yoza.

Note: If these battles or events don’t appear, you might need to increase your Infamy Rank first.

Sakura

  • Energy: 1,780
  • Attack: 1,070
  • Defense: 580
  • Finisher: Dancing Venus
Sakura, Tsubasa’s long-time friend and rival, joins your gang after you complete the first Total Annihilation mission, “Operation: Rescue Sakura.” Unlike regular Turf Wars, this is a large single arena battle.

Note: Sakura is the first Gold Baddie you can recruit.

Dawg Boi

  • Energy: 1,780
  • Attack: 890
  • Defense: 670
  • Finisher: Blade Rider of Romance
After rescuing Sakura and teaming up with the Ryukyu Venus, you can challenge the Bullet Boyz gang. Their leader, Dawg Boi, will join your gang after you finish the Turf War, “The Big Three: Bullet Boyz.” You’ll need to prepare four squads for this fight.

Shuto The Elder & Shuto The Younger

  • Energy: 1,780 / 2,430
  • Attack: 1,070 / 670
  • Defense: 760 / 890
  • Finisher: Fujin’s Fist / Rajin’s Spear
These brothers are part of the last Big Three gang. They are a strong duo, combining good offense and defense. Both are Gold Baddies. To recruit them, complete the Turf War, “The Big Three: Hard Knock Academy.”

This marks the end of the available Baddies’ storylines in the main game at this point.

Mai Kiryuin

  • Energy: 1,890
  • Attack: 490
  • Defense: 540
  • Finisher: Healing Melody
Mai is a Bronze Baddie but very useful because she can heal your team. She’s located where Ryukyu Boulevard and Ryukyu Central Highway meet. You can recruit her only after your gang’s Infamy Rank reaches 3. So, it’s best to save her for the end of Chapter 2 or before starting Chapter 3.
