There are several assault rifles in Battlefield 6, ranging from the versatile beginner M433 to the more punishing but harder-to-handle NVO. Each weapon has its advantages and disadvantages. To maximize their effectiveness, players need to experiment with different loadouts. Some weapons stand out because they are both useful and easy to control.
It’s important not to rely solely on the top-tier weapons unless you’re trying to follow the current game meta. Battlefield 6 is fairly balanced at the moment, though that balance could change as updates roll out. This list will be updated over time.
Best Assault Rifles in Battlefield 6
Here’s a look at the top assault rifles based on ease of use, damage, control, and accuracy.
NVO-228E
The NVO is at the top of the list. When you first start using it, it might seem underwhelming due to its significant recoil. But if you put in the effort to master it, this rifle becomes very powerful for short, medium, and long-range combat. Best modifications include a vertical grip (using the highest level you’ve unlocked), a suppressor to hide your position on the mini-map (which is often underrated), and an extended barrel.
M433
The M433 is the first assault rifle you’ll unlock in Battlefield 6. It’s a solid choice for aggressive players, especially in close-quarters combat on smaller maps. Its main drawback is poor bullet spread over extended firing (bloom), but this can be improved with a vertical grip and a brake to reduce recoil.
KORD 6P67
If recoil control is a challenge, the KORD is a great pick. It boasts a high rate of fire, low damage per shot, and minimal recoil, making it very accurate. However, you’ll need to be more precise with shots at longer distances, as it’s less effective at close range against faster weapons. Since recoil isn’t a problem, you can focus on other attachments like a suppressor, better ammunition, and custom accessories.
Note: Battlefield 6 gunplay involves a bit of strategy akin to rock-paper-scissors. Some guns excel in close-range engagements but can be outclassed by other weapons, like heavy machine guns or the NVO. Playing to your weapon’s strengths is key to success.
All assault rifles can be effective once fully upgraded and equipped with the right attachments. Many rifles may feel clunky early on until you unlock grips, barrels, and other enhancements.
