Whether you’ve played a real coin pusher machine before or not, you’ve probably never experienced anything like Raccoin. This game is based on the classic machine but adds many new twists, like coins with supernatural effects, prizes that break the rules, and a charming group of animals with special abilities.
Although Raccoin is simple to pick up with a good tutorial, its many systems can be confusing at first. Here are some beginner tips to help you during your first few hours playing Raccoin.
Learn How to Throw Coins
In your early runs, focus on mastering how to throw coins. You do this by clicking the left and right mouse buttons or using the Q and E keys. The position of the upper board affects your throws: to push coins toward the sides, aim your throw as the upper board moves toward you. To keep coins in the middle, throw from either side while the board moves backward.
Getting familiar with where coins land will help you gather coins on specific sides, which is useful for collecting prizes and maximizing your valuable coins.
Don’t Spend All Your Tickets at First
For your first couple of rounds, avoid splurging on shop items unless you have free purchases. Early on, you won’t earn many tickets, and buying a special coin can quickly use up most of your tickets. Tickets are needed not only to buy items but also to exchange for extra coins when needed.
Wait until you have at least 50 tickets before making any purchases. This way, you can save your tickets for when they will be more useful.
Keep Your Score Rate in Mind
As you play and unlock more coins, you’ll notice many have special effects that add extra value to themselves or other coins. While high-value coins are good, it’s better to focus on your Score Rate—a multiplier that increases your total score.
The score multiplier applies to all coins on the board, not just the special ones. A high multiplier can boost your points more than simply having expensive coins, so your goal should be to increase your Score Rate alongside collecting valuable coins.
Buy Horizontal Clip Expansions First
When starting out, aim to purchase Clip Expansions. They come in two types: vertical and horizontal. Vertical expansions let you hold more copies of the same coins, while horizontal expansions allow you to buy more different types of coins.
Since you can only buy up to six expansions per game, and both types count together, it’s usually best to focus on horizontal expansions to diversify your collection early.
Buy Killer Coins When They Appear
Every few rounds, bad coins may appear that can disrupt your progress — for example, coins that destroy others or reduce your score. To counter this, you should look for Killer Coins. The most common is the raccoon, which can eliminate six nearby bad coins.
It’s best not to buy many shop items early, but if you see a Killer Coin available, purchase it and keep it ready for when you need it. This helps you control bad coins and keeps your run going longer.
Enter the Shop Quickly After Each Round
Rounds usually end once you reach your target score. However, you can delay starting the next round by doing nothing. The game keeps the coins moving, but it’s better to start the new round immediately by pressing Enter when the shop becomes available. Waiting causes you to lose potential bonus points, and if the Wheel Spin is active, you won’t be able to close the round until it finishes.
Finishing each round promptly means you keep the coins about to fall for the next round and start with a good base of points.
Infinity Squishie Is the Best Modifier
As you play more, you’ll unlock Modifiers—special items you attach to coins to add new effects. One of the most useful is Infinity Squishie.
This Modifier makes a coin always return to your clip after falling out of the machine, being absorbed, or leaving the board. It essentially becomes eternal. When combined with powerful coins like Sun, which greatly change your board, having an Infinity Squishie is a big advantage because it allows your key coins to stick around and keep boosting your score.
Don’t Let the Angry Blowfish Keychain Go
After passing some rounds, you’ll receive Keychains that provide permanent rewards. For example, the Dog Food Keychain gives unlimited auto-fills, but as a beginner, it’s better to focus on the Angry Blowfish.
This Keychain greatly expands the impact area of your prizes, making coins that absorb many others. Even if it doesn’t seem important at first, as you collect prizes and keychains, you’ll realize how valuable this upgrade is.
By following these tips, you’ll get a strong start in Raccoin and be better prepared to make strategic moves while having fun playing.
