Persona 5: The Phantom X Overview
Persona 5: The Phantom X follows a new set of Phantom Thieves led by the enigmatic Lufel and their even more mysterious leader, Wonder. Wonder appears to be an ordinary teenager but carries hidden depths in his memories.
As the main character, Wonder is a constant presence in your team, regardless of the other characters you choose. His unique Wild Card ability allows him to wield multiple Personas, making him the game’s most adaptable character.
Important Note
Wonder cannot equip Revelation Cards, and he is a required character in any party configuration.

The Fatal Knife boosts your attack based on how many Personas you have. While it might not seem impactful early on, it’s an affordable option from Iwai. For better overall performance, the Midnight Sun dagger offers superior stats and a beneficial effect after switching Personas, making it a strong choice for Wonder. Finally, the Sennight Inferno, a free 5-Star weapon, provides significant attack boosts and debuffs to enemies, making it the best weapon for Wonder.
Best Personas for Wonder
As you progress in-game, Wonder can use up to three Personas at once, allowing you to adapt your strategy based on the battle. Here’s a look at some effective Personas you should consider:
Persona | Role | How To Obtain | Passive Skill |
---|---|---|---|
Janosik | Assassin | Initial Persona | Increases Attack by 4.2% and boosts Attack by 20% when an ally attacks a Marked foe. |
Parvati | Medic | Unlocked through Fusion at level 60 | Increases HP by 21.2% and buffs Attack by 11.5% and Defense by 7.5% for one turn after healing. |
Norn | Guardian | Unlocked through Fusion at level 60 | Boosts Defense by 37.4% and reduces the target’s Defense by 22.8% after inflicting Windswept. |
Janosik is a solid starting Persona, ideal for early gameplay. It includes abilities like Tatra Shot and Seize the Day, which are useful for physical damage and healing. Given its flexibility, Janosik adapts well to different situations, making it perfect for beginners.
If healing is a priority, Parvati is your go-to. She not only enhances HP but also provides critical buffs that can significantly impact gameplay during tougher battles.
While Wonder may not typically assume a tank role, Norn is worth considering as it enhances defense and can debuff opponents, making it a good support choice for team members.
Ideal Skills for Wonder
Wonder employs a skill tree rather than a fixed set of skills, allowing you to enhance his stats. Focus on boosting his HP, Attack, and Defense first, then branch out to other skills. Keep an eye on your growth, as leveling up unlocks further enhancements for these attributes.
By systematically managing Wonder’s weapons, Personas, and skills, you can create a flexible and strong character ready for any challenge in Persona 5: The Phantom X.
