Just because you’ve finished the main storyline of Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time doesn’t mean your adventure is over. In fact, there’s still plenty left to explore! Some challenges can only be tackled after the main quests are complete, and certain goals, such as mastering all Lives, typically aren’t achieved until the credits roll.

One major task that you’ll want to save for after finishing the game is the deactivation of Sealed Areas. Throughout your journey, you’ll come across several of these barriers, but you’ll need Dark Fire to break them and access the rewards behind them. We’re currently documenting each Sealed Area, collaborating with the community to help you decide which ones to tackle first.

This guide is still being developed!

How to Break Purple Seals

Purple Seals are those annoying purple barriers you’ll encounter in The Depths, certain caves, and other select locations in Fantasy Life i.

For example, you’ll first spot one while navigating through The Depths (B1), right on your way to a key plot point. Once you interact with a Purple Seal, you’ll find out that you cannot pass through at that moment.

In reality, you won’t be able to breach these barriers until you’ve completed the main story. You’ll need to speak with Edward back at Base Camp to obtain your first Stone Slate after finishing the main storyline.

Once you’ve beaten the game, head over to Fort Gardhart. Shadow-type monsters will appear there, which have a chance of dropping Dark Fire. Use Dark Fire to start breaking those seals, but keep in mind that each one has its own Dark Fire cost, which can get pretty steep!

You can refresh a room’s Shadow monsters by leaving and re-entering. This is effective in most areas of Fantasy Life i, making it particularly useful for gathering Dark Fire more efficiently!

Another method to acquire Dark Fire is through random drops in Treasure Grove stages. However, this also only occurs post-game. While we prefer farming it from Shadow monsters, this is another (though time-consuming) option.

All Sealed Areas

This is a work in progress. The community is uncovering these areas gradually, and we’ll continue to update the list as we unlock more Purple Seals. Just keep in mind that farming for Dark Fire can take a lot of time!
