Strategies to Overcome the Ropalolyst in Warframe

The Ropalolyst is a flying boss in Warframe that can be found in an Assassination mission on Jupiter. Defeating this boss grants blueprints necessary for crafting the Warframe Wisp, so expect to face the Ropalolyst several times while collecting all required blueprints.

As with many boss encounters in Warframe, the Ropalolyst can be tough if you’re unfamiliar with its mechanics. However, once you grasp the strategy, winning becomes much easier. Below, we’ll discuss effective tactics for taking down the Ropalolyst, including suggested Warframes and weapons.

Optimal Loadout for the Ropalolyst

The Ropalolyst is only vulnerable to certain mechanics during the fight, making typical damage-dealing Warframe abilities less effective. It’s advisable to choose a tanky Warframe that can withstand the Ropalolyst’s stronger attacks, such as Hildryn, Revenant, or Inaros.

For weapons, opt for those capable of targeting specific points on the boss, like sniper rifles. Essentially, any weapon suited for an Eidolon Hunt will be effective. The Ropalolyst is particularly susceptible to Radiation damage, so make sure to enhance your chosen weapon accordingly.

Recommended weapons include the Rubico or Vectis and their Prime variants, if available. The Voidrig Necramech with its Exalted Weapon, the Arquebex, is also excellent for this battle.

Strategy to Defeat the Ropalolyst

Your battle against the Ropalolyst will occur in a large open area featuring three energy cylinders located to the north, east, and west. As you move towards one of these cylinders via the wires connecting the platforms, the Ropalolyst will approach and begin transmitting electrical charges.

Jump over these electrical charges while utilizing each of the four wires when necessary. Upon reaching the platform, the boss will charge and fire a laser at you, which you can evade by hiding behind the cylinder, charging it in the process.

Afterward, return to the main platform and use your Operator’s weapon to bring down the Ropalolyst’s shield. Once the shield is down, you can get close to the boss and see the prompt ‘Grab Ropalolyst’. Doing so will allow you to control the boss and guide it to the charged cylinder.

This action will cause the Ropalolyst to land on the center platform. Now you need to shoot the small canisters on its back. Focus on destroying either the left or right canister; you only need to eliminate one.

Once you eliminate the canister, the Ropalolyst will fall. Quickly move to the control panel at the arena’s entrance and interact with it to fire the Terran Charger, striking the Ropalolyst with a substantial laser.

You will need to repeat this process two more times using the remaining energy cylinders. On the final attempt when the Ropalolyst goes down, its entire body will become vulnerable instead of just the canisters on its back. Once you deplete the boss’s health to zero and activate the laser for the third time, the Ropalolyst will be defeated.
