Sony has officially announced a PlayStation State of Play event scheduled for February 2026. While this news is promising, recent showcases suggest fans should temper their expectations.
The live broadcast is set for Thursday, February 12, at 2 p.m. Pacific Time / 5 p.m. Eastern Time, with the event expected to last over an hour.
Sony has highlighted that the presentation will feature “eye-catching third-party and indie games coming to PS5,” along with the latest updates from PlayStation Studios teams.
While the inclusion of PlayStation Studios is confirmed, it appears we’ll see updates from multiple studios rather than entirely new game announcements. Fans are hoping for more reveals on titles like Saros, Horizon Hunters Gathering, and potentially Marvel’s Wolverine, which Sony has kept under wraps. However, expectations for brand-new reveals should be kept in check, as previous events typically focused more on existing projects and upcoming titles.
Much of the extensive runtime is likely to be dedicated to showcasing third-party titles and indie games, as has been typical in past presentations.
We’ll keep you updated with more details as they become available. As usual, we’ll stream the event on PlayStation LifeStyle and provide a comprehensive recap for those unable to watch the live broadcast.
