Stalking Supper: Your Ultimate Guide & Reward Info

After the impressive debut week of Monster Hunter Wilds, the excitement continues with the launch of two new event quests. These quests, titled Kut-Ku Gone Cuckoo and Stalking Supper, kick off the ongoing rotation of special events within the game, showcasing the franchise’s knack for creative naming conventions.

Event Quests are limited-time challenges that hunters can undertake. Typically linked to holidays or crossover events, these quests often offer unique cosmetic rewards, like in Kut-Ku Gone Cuckoo. However, they also serve as valuable opportunities for farming specific resources, such as cooking ingredients in Stalking Supper. It’s highly recommended to complete this quest during its active period.

How to Unlock and Start the Stalking Supper Event

Stalking Supper can be accessed through the event quest tab when talking to the character Alma. At this time, the choices are limited to only two quests: Stalking Supper and Kut-Ku Gone Cuckoo, which will alternate weekly. As with many quests in Monster Hunter Wilds, diving into this event will transport you to a special instance, specifically a nighttime version of the Plains in a Plenty.

To participate in Stalking Supper, players must have reached at least Hunter Rank 9. Be aware that this quest will no longer be available after March 11. Once you accept the quest, you can engage in it repeatedly while it remains on the schedule, and with the enticing rewards up for grabs, I recommend completing it multiple times.

Tips for Farming the Quematrice

Unlike some of the more innovative event quests that may appear in Wilds, the goal of Stalking Supper is straightforward: hunt down a Quematrice. There’s no special variant of this monster—just the standard one. Although it’s not a standout foe, focusing on an efficient hunt is still worthwhile due to the excellent rewards.

One effective strategy for a hassle-free hunt is to target the Quematrice’s tail first. Most of its dangerous attacks stem from its tail, which can cause explosive damage. After severing the tail, the head becomes the next prime target since both parts take bonus damage. Additionally, using weapons with water elemental damage can significantly enhance your success. Keeping your gear upgraded will also aid in improving your overall efficiency.

All Stalking Supper Event Rewards

Despite Monster Hunter Wilds lacking a unique lineup of Palico chefs, cooking is a vital aspect of gameplay, and it’s strongly encouraged. The cooking system has evolved to offer buffs that last through multiple hunts, making rare ingredients more beneficial than ever. While gathering these ingredients can be challenging, Stalking Supper offers a refreshing alternative.

Most rewards from this quest, including standard crafting materials and decorations from the Quematrice, may not seem exciting. However, the quest uniquely provides useful cooking items such as Kunafa Cheese, Sharp Kunafa Cheese, Wild Herb, and Wild Seed Oil. Both types of Kunafa Cheese grant the Defender Meal buff, enhancing your defenses, while Wild Seed Oil boosts the efficacy of status effects, and Wild Herb helps mitigate the impact of negative ailments. Their uses vary, making them handy against ailment-heavy monsters like the infamous Rathalos.

In summary, tackling the Stalking Supper quest is an excellent way to address the ingredient shortages in Wilds. The blend of simplicity and pragmatic rewards makes it a worthwhile endeavor. If you find yourself scouring the maps of Monster Hunter Wilds for your next adventure, consider taking on Stalking Supper—you won’t regret it.
