As you would imagine, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is packed with puzzles to tackle, with Gina alongside you every step of the way. You’ll encounter locked doors, unusual levers, and pressure plates that could trigger unexpected events.
Near the conclusion of the Vatican section in the game, you’ll be required to complete two trials to acquire two keys, including the Gold Path Trial. This particular puzzle challenges you to find a way to unlock a door by rearranging some towers in a chamber. Once you get some hints, it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out.
Gold Path Trial Puzzle Guide
Upon entering the gold trial chamber, you’ll find a lever at the far end. Although you can approach it, pulling the lever won’t unlock the door until you complete the puzzle.
You can traverse any part of the arena that isn’t on fire. The steam and sparks won’t harm you, so feel free to navigate without worry.
From the lever, turn left and go behind the bars to find some chains that you can pull. Keep pulling those chains until the towers in the main chamber slide over the fiery spots and shine brightly.
How to Maneuver Hidden Chains
Once you’ve lit the two towers, return to the entrance of the trial where you’ll find a whip grapple point to the side of the main area. Use your whip to climb to the nearest tower that you just ignited.
Indy will then request Gina’s help to shift the tower into position, allowing you to whip onto another grapple point and pull yourself up into a broken entryway above.
Drop down through the hole to find yourself behind the bars you couldn’t reach before due to the locked door. Make sure to pull the chains in this area as well to illuminate the floor below, then return to the opposite side after unlocking the door with the chain.
You will need to revisit the chains you initially moved to maneuver the tower Gina adjusted back into position.
With all towers now illuminated, you can use the lever to unlock the main door. Inside the next chamber, pull the chain to rotate the statues and activate the forge.
After leaving that area, use your whip to solidify the metal and retrieve the key that opens the door, concluding both trials. You may choose to insert the key in the door now or save it until you’ve completed the second trial.
