Skate 4 Skydiving Mastery: Essential Tips & Tricks

Skydiving in the game offers many chances to jump from tall places, but to do it well, you need to learn how to skydive. If you don’t, you’ll keep crashing from great heights.

Once you learn this skill, you can start from the rooftops of San Vansterdam’s tallest buildings and do tricks without smashing into the pavement. The early tutorials in the game don’t teach skydiving very clearly, but it’s easy to pick up once you get the hang of it.

## How to Set Up a Skydive

### All You Need Is a Tall Building

You’ll need to be off your skateboard to skydive properly. First, find a tall enough building to jump from, like ImpervaTOWERS in Market Mile. Climb or skate up there, then hold up on the d-pad to set a session marker. This marker helps you practice skydiving and jump back to the same spot easily whenever you want.

Once you have your respawn point near a ledge, jump off without your skateboard or skate off and just grab your board again. To do this, press the Y button on Xbox or the △ button on PlayStation, no matter if you’re on the ground or in the air.

### How to Skydive in the Game

### Two Easy Button Presses

When falling, press R1 to start diving and then press either A on Xbox or X on PlayStation to spread your arms out. You can press both buttons in any order—just hold them down.

With your arms out, you’ll slow your fall, allowing you to skydive properly. You’ll see a sign in the bottom left that says you’re in a “Spread Eagle” pose. If you want to land on your board just before hitting the ground, hop back onto it and try to land smoothly.

Skydiving not only helps you fall slower but also lets you travel farther through the air, even without a parachute. Once you’re good at it, you can reach hard spots on the map or cover large distances quickly. This makes it easier to get to missions that earn you money.

While skydiving isn’t very realistic in this game, and it’s quite different from the original skate series, mastering it is a smart move if you want to do tricks that aren’t possible in real life. It’s one of the best skills to learn in the game right now.
