Out of nowhere, PlayStation 5 gamers have been caught off guard by a new single-player action adventure game that shares similarities with BioShock, and early reactions are overwhelmingly positive. Crisol: Theater of Idols has already received glowing reviews on both the PS Store and Steam, and its PS5 launch trailer has sparked plenty of curiosity.
Crisol: Theater of Idols is described as a horror action adventure set in a twisted reimagining of Spain. Players step into the shoes of Gabriel, a soldier who fights using his blood as a weapon while on a divine mission from the Sun God.
Vermila Studios, the game’s developer, explains that players will uncover the dark history and eerie folklore of Tormentosa—a beautiful yet malevolent island. Blood serves as both a source of life and ammunition. Use this power to fend off terrifying enemies and solve complex puzzles, but be careful: each shot depletes your life. Success depends on your ability to carefully balance life and death.
