In the world of video games, death is a common event, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard is no different, especially with its challenging boss fights that can leave you underleveled. When you meet your demise, you may notice the chance to reload your last save, but there’s also an option to revive—which might not be available right away.

At the beginning of the game, you won’t have any revives, and these are not just random items like Potions that you can collect during your journey. Additionally, they are not influenced by the game’s difficulty setting. Instead, you must find specific items within the game to gain revive charges for those nail-biting moments when victory is almost within reach.

Where to Get Revival Charges

If you read the descriptions of different gear in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you’ll discover which items will grant you the ability to revive. Look for the stat that indicates ‘+1 Revival Charges’. When equipped by your companions, this allows you to use the revive option during battles.

It’s crucial to understand that reviving is not automatic. You won’t accidentally use a revive if you’re overwhelmed by a swarm of Ghouls while low on health. Just like deciding whether to load a previous save or exit the game, you can choose when to use your revival option—so save it for those tough bosses that are nearly defeated.

Here are a few items that provide Revival Charges: First, there’s the Calibration Crystal for Bellara available from the merchant in Arlathan Forest, which costs 220 gold and requires the shop to be at level three. Next, you can find the Creator’s Chisel for Davrin at the merchant in Hossberg Wetlands, priced at 350 gold with the same shop level requirement. Lastly, offer Lucanis a Simple Oil And Stone from the merchant in Treviso for 240 gold once the shop reaches level three.

While these items may seem fairly random, we discovered Bellara’s Calibration Crystal located at the very north end of the second level of the map in Arlathan Forest, as shown above.

Since revive options can be scarce, a smarter strategy might just be to avoid dying altogether. Who would have thought? For tips on increasing your health, take a look here.
