Cleaning in PowerWash Simulator 2 is a full-time job, and there’s a lot of money to be made by making everything look nice. Furniture, cosmetic items, and new powerwashing tools can be expensive, so to unlock everything, you need to remove every bit of dirt you find.
Bigger jobs pay more, but is there a smart way to maximize your earnings from washing? Let’s look at how money and PowerWash Points are earned in the game, and what the best strategy is.
How To Earn Money and PowerWash Points
PowerWash Simulator 2 has two currencies:
- Money (shown with a dollar sign): Used to buy washer equipment and upgrades like nozzles and extensions.
- PowerWash Points (shown with a circle and the letter P): Used for furniture and cosmetic items.
In short, if something has an in-game purpose, you buy it with money. If it’s purely cosmetic, you use PowerWash Points.
Money can only be earned the first time you complete a job. PowerWash Points, however, can be earned in both Story Mode and Free Play. When you do a job for the first time in Story Mode, each cleaning task you finish earns you some money. The total money you earn from that job is the sum of all cash rewards from its tasks. When you replay the same job in Free Play, the cash rewards are replaced with PowerWash Points.
You can see your task list for each job, which groups smaller tasks together—like the different faces of a building or parts of a machine. Finishing all tasks in a group gives you a bonus of PowerWash Points you can spend on cosmetics or furniture.
Note: You can only hold 2,000 PowerWash Points at once. Make sure to spend them before starting new jobs if you’re close to that limit.
Best Strategy for Earning Money in PowerWash Simulator 2
Since you only earn cash in Story Mode and PowerWash Points in both modes, the quickest way to grow your bank account is to play through Story jobs and focus on completing all tasks. This approach should give you enough funds to buy everything you need.
There’s a trick to speeding up this process. You can buy and sell washer equipment without losing money. If you’re a few dollars short of the next upgrade, sell your current gear, buy the new one, and later sell it back to refill your inventory for achievements like Maxed Out. Think of your in-game money more like storage capacity rather than real cash—it’s a way to hold enough equipment for maximum upgrades.
