In the delightful world of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, players have the exciting task of collecting various respawned items each day. Among these, Chocolate Coins hold significant importance, as they are essential for crafting chocolate-themed recipes beloved by characters like Chococat and Cinnamoroll.
Every day, you can find 15 Chocolate Coins at a specific location on the island. However, new players may find it challenging to access them since the coins are located deep underwater and require a special item to reach.
Where to Find Chocolate Coins
Exploring the Sunken Ship
Your first step in obtaining Chocolate Coins is to get a snorkel from Kuromi. While you can swim early on, diving in Hello Kitty Island Adventure requires a different set of skills and quests. Befriend Kuromi to unlock the diving quest, which provides you with the crafting recipe for the snorkel.
Once you acquire the snorkel, the next step is to either build stamina or obtain a mermaid costume. Both options allow you to stay underwater longer. Increasing your stamina will benefit you across the island, but it requires five stamina apple slices, which can take time to gather. On the other hand, finding the mermaid outfit makes it easier to manage stamina loss while diving, so it is the preferred method for newcomers.
If you’re short on coins, consider using an Island Bouquet to respawn all island materials. However, it’s advisable to gather other resources first rather than just focusing on Chocolate Coins, or else it might go to waste.
After you’re able to dive longer, check the map for a sunken pirate ship located in the top left area of the water. Swim there until you’re just above the ship, then dive down to explore. You’ll find 15 Chocolate Coins scattered around the ship. Since this is their only spawn point, ensure you activate the Fast-Travel Mailbox nearby to make your daily visits easier.
Other Ways to Acquire Chocolate Coins
Request from the Nuls & Wish Upon a Wish
If diving isn’t your thing, there are alternative methods to collect Chocolate Coins, though they require a bit more patience. One option is to ask the Collector Nul. After completing the Meet The Island Beings quest with My Melody, you can place a collector’s hat on a Nul in the plaza. This enables it to stand by a chest near My Melody’s shop, where you can request items each day.
The Nul will gather materials from around the island, but the catch is that they won’t appear in the chest until the following day. This is a downside, especially since collecting Chocolate Coins is relatively easy, so it may be wiser to reserve the Nul for rarer items.
Keep in mind if you have collected much of a specific item already that day, don’t ask the Nul to gather it. The Nul only collects what’s left, and any requested items will disappear from the island until the next spawn. Also, once you make a request, you can’t change your mind.
As your friendship with island residents grows, you can also ask them to collect items similarly to what the Nul does. Aside from this, the main alternative for gathering Chocolate Coins is through the Wishing Fountain, available after completing the When You Fwish Upon A Fish quest.
Donating fish to the fountain can yield rewards, but the results are not guaranteed and may require several fish. Thus, only consider this option if you have a surplus and urgently need more coins. Once you’ve gathered all your Chocolate Coins, they can be used to whip up a variety of recipes in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, including Chocolate Chai, a favorite of Cinnamoroll.
