As the Wyrd spreads its influence across Avalon and Kamelot in Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, gathering Ethereal Cobwebs becomes essential. At the start of the game, these items may be tricky to find. Without the right strategies or knowledge, you’ll find it challenging to maintain your campfire effectively.
Fortunately, we’ve highlighted the best locations to collect these valuable resources in large quantities. You can’t purchase Ethereal Cobwebs anywhere; you’ll need to venture out to gather them. Below, we’ll explain where to locate these materials and how to use them to navigate Avalon more smoothly—especially in relation to the Wyrd.
Where to Find Ethereal Cobwebs
During the prologue, a mysterious companion will provide you with just enough Ethereal Cobwebs to keep the Wyrd at bay around your campfire. However, if you aim to travel safely and unlock unique rewards, you’ll need a larger supply.
Ethereal Cobwebs can only be acquired by defeating creatures during the Wyrd hours at night. The right moment is marked by a glowing gold ring on the ground and a change in music, even when no enemies are present.
During these special hours, you might notice unusual occurrences. Ordinary enemies will behave erratically, humans will morph into monsters, and Wyrdspawn will appear. One of the best spots early in the game for gathering a significant amount of Ethereal Cobwebs is near the Sunken Village at night, where many monsters roam freely and space is available for Wyrdspawn to show up.
Exercise caution when battling Wyrdspawn and similar creatures! They often attack in groups.
Regular creatures affected by the Wyrd will drop a small number of Ethereal Cobwebs, while Wyrd creatures will give you larger quantities. Farming in Wyrd-influenced areas will quickly increase your stash, so make it a point to explore at night for plenty of these resources.
How to Use Ethereal Cobwebs
Ethereal Cobwebs serve multiple purposes, though their primary use is at campfires, where they enable additional actions. By utilizing Ethereal Cobwebs at your camp, a protective barrier will be established to keep the Wyrd out, while allowing you to perform alchemy and other crafting tasks.
You can also use the Wyrd to identify items, but each task requires a different quantity of cobwebs. Additionally, if you wish to fast travel without relying on waypoints, you’ll need to first charge your bonfire with ten Ethereal Cobwebs.
