A new adventure game set to release on the PS5 in fall 2026 is generating excitement. Created by the team behind Death Come True, Akiba Lost is described as a “full-scale live-action game,” unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 by Izanagi Games.
‘Zapping-style’ adventure game Akiba Lost launches on PS5 in September 2026
Akiba Lost will be available on PS5, Nintendo Switch (both versions 1 & 2), and PC starting September 17, 2026. An Xbox version has not been announced at this time.
Izanagi Games explains that players will switch perspectives between the main character, Shinjo, and six female characters to piece together the story using a “zapping-style” gameplay mechanic. The game features around 20 hours of playtime and centers on six girls who mysteriously disappeared 13 years ago in Akihabara.
The story kicks off with a threatening phone call and the sudden disappearance of Aoi. The game’s synopsis warns, “Cancel the development of the game, or tragedy will happen again.” Players must decide whether Shinjo can complete his game, protect his friends, uncover the truth behind the disappearances, and identify the mastermind behind the events from 13 years ago. The choices you make will influence the ending, so every decision counts.
Akiba Lost was developed in partnership with Nippon TV and AX-ON, a Japanese drama production company.
