PSSR 2 promises to be a significant upgrade for the PS5 Pro. PlayStation mentioned that this new version of PSSR has been in development for some time and adopts a markedly different approach than previous iterations. Resident Evil Requiem, which is launching today, will be among the first titles to utilize the new system, maintaining both high frame rates and visual quality.
Capcom’s Masaru Ijuin commented on how the update enhances Resident Evil Requiem, stating that PSSR 2 allows for better expression by processing intricate details and textures that are usually tough to upscale due to their complexity. This results in a heightened horror experience, with improved graphics and gameplay feel.
Players who update their system can choose to enable or disable the enhanced PSSR quality through the system settings. This option can be accessed under the Screen and Video settings in the “Video Output” section.
