Sony has announced that the highly anticipated successor to the 2024 hit action RPG will be coming to the PS5. While it might seem obvious that Black Myth: Zhong Kui, the follow-up to the popular Black Myth: Wukong, would also launch on PS5, Game Science has yet to specify any platforms for the game.
Interestingly, the developer has not officially confirmed the consoles for Black Myth: Zhong Kui. However, Sony has released a Lunar New Year trailer for the game on its official YouTube channel, labeling it as a PS5 title.
It’s likely that Game Science has held back on platform confirmation because the game remains in the early stages of development. There’s also a possibility it may release on the upcoming PS6 instead.
Black Myth: Zhong Kui is the next installment in the Black Myth universe, but it’s not a direct sequel to Wukong.
“After completing our journey with the Destined One, we’re now looking to take our first tentative steps toward creating more unique gaming experiences. Our goal is to incorporate bolder features, introduce fresh ideas to storytelling, and challenge ourselves creatively,” the studio stated in August 2025. “Zhong Kui was a natural choice based on that vision and other contributing factors.”
The studio has also assured fans that it’s not finished with Black Myth: Wukong yet.
