Now that you’ve mastered the basics of Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, you’re probably aiming to compete in tougher battles, level up faster, and finish your battle pass before the new season arrives.
Here are some expert tips to give you an advantage as you climb the ranks. These strategies can help you secure wins for your team and improve your overall experience. From completing challenges to equipping the right medals, strategizing your moves, and more, these tips are designed to boost your gameplay.
Bring The Boss To You
A crucial point is the boss’s position. Many team fights are decided by where you lead the boss. If you’re battling in the enemy’s spawn area, they gain a respawn advantage because they can quickly reappear next to you after dying. This allows them to attack the boss directly, often turning the tide of the battle.
Since the boss targets the player with the most bravery, if you reach 9,999 bravery, lure the boss to your spawn point to take advantage of that safe position. Keep in mind that Atomos is an exception here, as he remains stationary.
Have One Of These Equipped At All Times
At higher levels, a barrier or barrier breaker becomes essential. Many players at advanced ranks can block or break nearly any attack, so having a barrier shield in your loadout is vital. The UR Selphie/Wall medal is an excellent permanent choice. If you don’t have that, upgrading the SR Barrier move is a good alternative.
Additionally, carrying a barrier breaker—like the SR Earth Breaker—can catch enemies off guard and prevent wasting cooldowns on invulnerable opponents. Keep in mind your team’s needs when selecting your abilities; coordination with teammates about who brings what can be very effective.
It’s also wise to include a healing skill, such as SR Heal, so that both you and your allies can recover health during fights.
Pay Attention To Positioning
Positioning is key—both for yourself and your team. Proper placement allows you to avoid enemy abilities like Kain’s Dragoon’s Pride or Rinoa’s Meteor by staying out of their attack zones.
Always check where allies and enemies are before making a move, especially when sharing bravery points (BP). For example, avoid giving BP to allies who are out of position and at risk of feeding the enemy. Good positioning also helps you dodge devastating attacks—like the UR Ace/Fire RF’s one-shot kill—by anticipating their start-up animations and moving out of danger.
Being aware of where everyone is also enables you to execute Burst Chains effectively, which can rapidly diminish the boss’s health.
Don’t Frivolously Break Crystals
While breaking crystals is crucial for gaining BP, it’s important to choose which ones to target carefully. Rushing to break the first visible crystal can harm your team’s broader strategy. For instance, if a character like Krile is camping a specific crystal to share BP, destroying it prematurely can weaken their play.
Near the end of a match, focus on preventing enemies from finishing the boss or repositioning it rather than farming distant crystals. Breaking nearby crystals to support your team’s current goal is usually more effective than chasing far-off crystals that don’t impact the immediate fight.
Check Your Character Comparisons
Monitoring your stats helps you identify areas for improvement. Use your character comparison screen to review your usage rate, win percentage, bravery earned, and boss damage dealt. These insights can tell you which characters and strategies are most effective for you. Focus on boosting your boss damage, bravery, and win rate to optimize your setup.
Use Growth Eggs And Support Skills For Specific Increases
Enhance your characters wisely by applying Growth Eggs and support skills based on your play style and character roles. Instead of auto-assigning these items, target the specific UR abilities or support skills you actually use. For example, if you’re a melee character, prioritize stacking attack (ATK) enhancements, whereas support characters may benefit more from stacking health or defense.
Watch Your Replays
Review your gameplay recordings to see how you perform in matches. Comparing your replays with others playing similar characters can reveal mistakes and opportunities for improvement. Analyze how enemies outplayed you, what abilities they used, and what you could have done differently. Continuous self-evaluation is a hallmark of top players.
Do Your Challenges
Completing character-specific challenge modes offers more than just usable items like Growth Eggs and Job Medals. These challenges deepen your understanding of individual characters, help you learn their mechanics, and improve your skills. The medals you earn can also boost your character’s stats, making them stronger in future fights. Focusing on challenges ensures steady progress and mastery of your roster.
