A popular PS5 shooter is receiving a significant free update this month, introducing a wealth of new content.
Nightdive Studios has revealed a fresh expansion for Blood: Refreshed Supply, the remastered version of the cult classic shooter from 1997. Titled Death Wish, this expansion adds four new episodes, each featuring exclusive content unique to Blood: Refreshed Supply and serving as a sequel to the original game’s storyline.
The update, which will be available later this month at no cost for game owners, arrives alongside the current availability of Blood: Refreshed Supply for $29.99 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
Below is the trailer showcasing Blood: Refreshed Supply’s Death Wish expansion:
“Death Wish — spanning four episodes with a total of 48 levels — takes place years after Cryptic Passage, Post Mortem, and Marrow. The shadow of Tchernobog still lingers after his defeat, as he regains power while protagonist Caleb fights different battles. When his increasing strength can no longer be hidden, Tchernobog’s forces clash with their foe as the moment of the Dreaming God’s rise approaches,” the expansion’s description explains.
According to Nightdive Studios, the final episode is entirely new, and all maps support cooperative play. Additional features in this expansion include:
- The legendary blood-soaked shooter makes its console debut, rebuilt from the original source code with remastered cutscenes and bug fixes.
- Up to 4K 120FPS graphics on PlayStation 4/5 and Xbox One/Series X|S.
- Fully customizable keyboard and controller support.
- Enhanced modding options, supporting existing mods and new ones for improved enemy behavior, weather effects, and other enhancements.
- Local split-screen and cross-platform online multiplayer supporting up to eight players, including co-op, PvP “Bloodbath,” and classic 4v4 team-based “Capture The Flag” modes.
- CD and MIDI music support.
- Includes previous add-ons like Plasma Pak and Cryptic Passage.
- A new Vault featuring dozens of playable levels, concept art, behind-the-scenes photos, and unused sprites.
- New missions, Marrow and Death Wish, breathe new life into Blood. Both scenarios are available now.
