Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous: A Comprehensive Guide for Outcasts

The Outcast quest in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous requires you to seek out an NPC named Forn, who is on the hunt for a cultist woman. They have encountered each other in the past, but he was unable to eliminate her back then. Now, he is determined to find her again and rectify that failure.

As you assist him in tracking down the cultist, you’ll face a significant choice. You can either allow her to escape or support Forn in fulfilling his mission in Pathfinder WOTR. Each option carries its own set of consequences, and you may uncover that the narrative you’ve been given isn’t the whole story.

Talk to Forn

In the city of Kenabres, Kaylessa is a cultist hiding out. Forn has vowed to track her down and eliminate her, but he was unsuccessful in their prior encounter, as she proved to be a fierce and skilled adversary.

Your quest begins with a discussion with Forn, who will enlist your help in locating and killing Kaylessa. She can be found in the lower right corner of the Market Square, leaning against a wall.

Talk to Kaylessa

While conversing with her, passing the perception check will reveal that she is, in fact, not a cultist. At this point, you’re faced with a crucial decision regarding Kaylessa’s future.

After your dialogue with Kaylessa, you’ll sense that something is amiss. Lacking sufficient information, it’s up to you to decide what to do next.

Option 1 – Kill Kaylessa

The choices here lead to different consequences. If you choose to let her go, her storyline will progress, and you’ll encounter her multiple times throughout the game. Conversely, if you decide to kill her, Forn will reward you with the “Scroll of Death Ward.”

Ultimately, the decision is yours based on the character you’re playing, but we suggest letting her go to uncover the truth behind Forn’s motivations for wanting her dead.

If you opt to kill Kaylessa, you can do so during this encounter. Should you decide to spare her, we’ll guide you through a path of trust below.

Option 2 – Spare Kaylessa

After choosing to spare Kaylessa and later becoming the commander of the 5th Crusade, you will encounter Forn once more. In Act III, he will solicit your assistance.

He’ll appear injured and in distress, but be wary—it’s a ruse. If you succeed in the Perception, Lore, and Nature skill checks, you’ll uncover his devious scheme.

Upon learning Forn’s true intentions, you can assist Kaylessa in defeating him and discover the underlying reasons behind his pursuit of her. Following this, you can grant Kaylessa her last wish: to die and be free. Refusal will result in her attacking you, compelling you to defend yourself. Regardless of the outcome, you will eventually kill her to complete The Outcast quest in Pathfinder WOTR. Your loot includes a Composite Longbow +5, Second Chance, Mithral Chainshirt +3, and Ring of Protection +2.
