Gadgets add an extra layer of strategy to your gameplay. Whether you’re choosing which companions to bring along, selecting the best skills, or deciding if you should accept certain flaws, gadgets can influence your choices.

### All Outer Worlds 2 Gadgets

#### Tactical Time Dilation Gadget
This gadget is your first tool in the game, handed to you by Niles right at the start. It allows you to slow down time around you, giving you extra moments to think or act in tough situations. When active, it drains energy, especially faster if you’re moving or firing your weapon. It costs about 1 unit of energy per second, and the effect is most useful when you need a moment to make decisions or line up shots during combat.

#### Auntie’s Acidic Dematerializer
Unlocked shortly after starting the game, this gadget sprays corrosive goo that melts bodies, preventing enemies from discovering their remains. It costs 40 energy to use and is great for stealth playthroughs, helping you stay undetected by erasing clues. The goo can also damage nearby enemies if you spray it at close range, making it handy in melee situations, although its limited range might be a drawback if you prefer to engage from afar.

#### PALE (Jump Boost)
Found during a mission at Jackson Plum’s body, PALE gives you the ability to double jump. This boosts your mobility, letting you reach hard-to-access locations or dodge enemy attacks more easily. It doesn’t cost energy and can be a huge help for navigating and combat, especially when you need to move quickly or avoid danger.

#### Rift Anomaly Modulator
This gadget is key if you want to explore rifts around the universe. It stabilizes and allows you to travel through rifts, which can lead to hidden loot or shortcuts between locations. Acquired during the main story quest ‘An Instrument to Unfold Space and Time,’ it adds a new dimension to exploration and can help you uncover tight spots or secret areas with extra rewards.

#### Gas-Energy Deflection Apparatus
This shield-like gadget stops bullets, hazards, and even toxic gas. It costs 70 energy to activate and is received after completing a specific quest. It’s especially useful in areas with high Zyranium levels or frequent hazards, helping you avoid poisoning and incoming damage while giving you a chance to fight back more safely.

#### N-Ray Scanner
You get this gadget at the N-Ray Range, a location you visit through main quests and side missions. It allows you to see through walls, highlighting important objects and enemies, including invisible ones. Using it costs 4 energy per second but provides a bonus critical hit chance during fights. It’s perfect for stealthy players who want to avoid or prepare better for combat.
