Wuchang: Fallen Feathers can feel a little strange. Its structure is mostly straightforward, but not in the usual way. You’re able to skip over more than half of the bosses in Wuchang, allowing you to choose the order in which you face many of them. The main bosses, however, usually need to be fought in a certain order, though there are some exceptions.
Some players prefer breaking down Wuchang into five chapters. Still, you can choose to complete Chapter 3 (Mount Zhenwu) before finishing Chapter 2 (Cloudspire). Even the major bosses can be fought out of order if you want. If you’re unsure about which boss to go after next, this guide will provide a recommended sequence that makes the most sense.
Worship’s Rise
The initial set of bosses in Worship’s Rise is quite manageable. These early fights are much easier than the ones you’ll face later. Even if you choose to fight them in a different order, it shouldn’t cause too much trouble.
Use this part of the game to learn how to use the deflect skill effectively. Mastering this will prepare you for tougher battles ahead. Consider Commander Honglan as a kind of final test for Worship’s Rise. Defeating her will help ensure you’re ready for future challenges.
Note: If you’re hunting down the Gluttonous Monstrosity, look for a seemingly broken bridge near the shrine of Shu Sanctum. It’s actually an illusion—you can walk across it.
Cloudspire
After beating Commander Honglan, you can choose what area to explore next. First, unlock the gate on the left side of the courtyard—Nian Suichang is nearby. Progressing through a cave will lead you to villagers in need and the Hillswatch Shrine. From this shrine, moving upward as normal will take you into the main Cloudspire area.
If you’re feeling particularly daring, you can instead follow a path from the Hillswatch Shrine to a barricade made of abandoned carts. Destroying those carts opens up a route to Mt. Zhenwu, but be warned: facing opponents there will be significantly more difficult.
Important: From this point on, each new area only has one mandatory boss to fight.
Mt. Zhenwu
After conquering Cloudspire, you’ll be better prepared for the Mt. Zhenwu bosses. If you decide to go straight there immediately after Honglan—using the blocked path—you might find the fight against the Bo Sorcerer extremely challenging. She has an enormous health pool, even if you’re at a high level.
You can skip her if you want, since she’s an optional boss, but doing so will lock you out of some future content.
Worship’s Rise in Ruins
Once you defeat Sovereign Zhang Xianzhong and the Final Bride Fang Ling, visit the Storyteller. He will tell you that you’re at a point of no return. Only choose the “press onward” option if you’re sure you have no unfinished business. When you proceed, you’ll be teleported to the Annalum.
Bo Capital
After unlocking Bo Capital, you’ll encounter a couple of optional bosses along with the final boss. The bosses Zhao Yun and the Demon of Obsession can only be fought if you completed The White Robed Elder’s quest. If you missed those side quests, the final stretch in Bo Capital will be a straightforward march toward the ultimate battle with Feathery Ambition, Xuanyangzi.
