If you’re looking for a puzzle that’s a bit more challenging but still manageable, consider trying the NYT Letter Boxed. You can tackle it directly and try to figure out the answers, but it may take you much less time if you take a moment to jot down some guesses first. This way, you invest a little time upfront, which could save you a lot of effort later on with the same puzzle.

POSITIVE THINGS TO ENCOUNTER AT WORK

BONUS

EQUITY

PROMOTION

RAISE

This first category features items I would generally be delighted to encounter. Nowadays, it may feel like many work environments focus on the negative, but it’s crucial to find a workplace that promotes positivity and good experiences! Despite this theme, I initially struggled to identify the correct answers for this category. I mistakenly chose DISCOUNT instead of EQUITY, which is a common aspect of retail and customer service jobs. However, EQUITY is a broader concept that applies across various industries.

DISREGARD

DISCOUNT

IGNORE

OVERLOOK

Having overlooked DISCOUNT in the earlier category, it was finally included here. I didn’t recognize it straight away, as my thoughts revolved around the quantitative side of things. Nonetheless, it fits well within the context of this group. Make sure not to OVERLOOK the other words either, as they all had a friendly little cluster in the puzzle. I was fortunate to guess the other category first; otherwise, I may have continued to IGNORE the alternative meaning of DISCOUNT.

ANIMAL

CLUB

GOLDFISH

RITZ

This category might feel either very simple or a bit tricky to you. The instinct might be to group all the animal-related terms together, but that would be overly simplistic. In fact, each of the remaining two categories will contain two animal-related terms to make things a bit more complex. That said, RITZ serves as an excellent clue here, while GOLDFISH might trip you up unless you remember those tasty little snacks.

Purple Answers: Revealed & Explained

MENTIONED IN “ELOISE”

ELOISE

PLAZA

PUG

TURTLE

Today’s last category definitely took a different turn than I’ve seen in the past six months of writing these guides. ELOISE is not only part of the category name but also one of the answers. Usually, the categories refer to “Things That Appeared in X Movie,” but this one changed it up. It left me puzzled at first, as I struggled to make sense of it, but I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this unique twist.
