What PS5 sequel is released today?
Scott Pilgrim EX, a new game inspired by the Scott Pilgrim franchise, is launching today on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You can buy it now on the PlayStation Store for $28.99.
Though not officially labeled as a sequel to the 2010 hit Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, EX bears many similarities, including its retro aesthetic in the beat ’em up style and an original soundtrack by the chiptune-inspired pop rock band Anamanaguchi.
The game is developed by Tribute Games, the same studio behind the 2010 title, and features a fresh storyline penned by Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley. It also serves as an unofficial sequel to Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, the anime series that debuted on Netflix in 2023.
Players will join Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers in a new fighting adventure. The game offers a roster of characters to choose from, each able to be upgraded with badges that enhance their abilities and attributes. Overall, there are seven playable characters, many of whom fans will recognize from the Scott Pilgrim universe.

Tribute Games continues to push the beat ’em up genre forward, and this is another impressive entry from them.”
