What’s the latest PS5 co-op game getting praise?
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, a first-person shooter created by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment, is now available. The plot centers on a malevolent entity called the Sludge God, which is unleashed onto Earth. A team of mercenaries teams up to combat the zombie hordes the Sludge God creates and to save humanity.
According to OpenCritic, the game has garnered favorable reviews, averaging a score of 74 from critics, with 58% recommending it. Many reviewers highlight the game’s entertaining mechanics and the chaotic gameplay experience it offers.
< a href="https://www.dualshockers.com/john-carpenters-toxic-commando-review/">DualShockers’ Shane Limbaugh praised the game, calling it “an incredibly fun experience. Even in its weakest moments, it remains a solid zombie shooter filled with exciting set pieces. Any issues it might have are likely to be addressed and fixed over time.” PlayStation Universe’s Ben Fellows agreed, describing it as “awesome co-op chaos delivered with confidence and style.”
< a href="https://www.cgmagonline.com/review/game/john-carpenters-toxic-commando-ps5/">CGMagazine’s Zubi Khan noted that the game “is a decent zombie horde shooter that’s even more fun with friends, although its short duration can lead to feelings of repetitiveness and lack of inspiration.” Meanwhile, ComingSoon’s Tyler Treese described it as “an absolute blast to play and a refreshing co-op shooter experience.”
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
