A new action RPG exclusive to the PS5, announced in 2024, has finally showcased its gameplay, and it looks quite exciting. A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei (initially known as Project Jinyiwei) is a martial arts adventure set in ancient China, with development support from Sony Interactive Entertainment.

In this game, players assume the role of an “ordinary boatman” who unexpectedly needs to infiltrate the Jinyiwei, the imperial guards of the Ming Dynasty. Acting as an undercover agent for the black market, players will employ martial arts skills to complete various missions.
According to an official description, the game invites players to “explore the late Ming Dynasty during a period when the empire teeters on the edge of collapse. Immerse yourself in the Wuxia world of the Chinese Ming Dynasty and navigate survival through your choices, revealing the rise and fall of your journey.”
A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei is part of Sony’s China Hero Project. It will also be available on PC alongside the PS5, though a release date has not yet been announced.
