PlayStation Studios tends to release a few titles annually, but one series consistently drops in March: MLB The Show. Fans can expect MLB The Show 26 to be available for PS5 this coming March, featuring a familiar cover athlete returning to the spotlight.
The cover athlete for MLB The Show 26 is Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees. Those familiar with the series will remember that Judge was also featured on the cover of MLB The Show 18. This year’s cover showcases Judge in his Team USA World Baseball Classic uniform, an element teased by San Diego Studio to be part of the Diamond Dynasty mode in this edition. Check out the trailer below announcing the game’s cover athlete.
“Aaron continues to rewrite history,” reads the official statement about Judge. “He was our cover star in 2018 after a record-breaking rookie season in 2017. Since then, he’s become a three-time American League MVP, a seven-time All-Star, a five-time Silver Slugger award winner, and holds the AL single-season home run record with 62 homers. He’s also the 2026 Team USA World Baseball Classic Captain. These highlights are just a few of his numerous achievements, and his performances inspire players, athletes, and fans worldwide. We’re thrilled to have him back as the cover athlete for MLB The Show 26.”
The game will release for PS5 on March 17. Players purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition will gain four days of early access starting March 13. Preorders for both standard and deluxe editions open on February 3 at 12 p.m. ET.
On February 3, San Diego Studio will also release the official gameplay trailer, featuring in-game footage along with updates on familiar features and some “special surprises.”
Additionally, PlayStation Studios plans to launch its extraction shooter, Marathon, on March 5.
