Leaker NateTheHate recently stated that Nintendo will hold a Direct this month to showcase its new console following the release of Donkey Kong Bananza.
Interestingly, YouTuber Wood “BeatEmUps” Hawker made a similar claim three weeks earlier and shared details on what might be included in the presentation.
As reported by 9to5Toys, during the Nontendo Podcast, BeatEmUps predicted the following announcements:
- Metaphor: ReFantazio;
- GameCube surprises, specifically Pokémon Colosseum;
- Death Stranding: Director’s Cut (he mentioned he’s unsure about this one);
- Switch 2 version of The Witcher 3;
- Release date for Metroid Prime 4;
- Animal Crossing in 2026.
BeatEmUps mentioned that he isn’t sure how accurate this information is. He emphasized that he is not an insider and often doesn’t receive inside info, and he feels somewhat skeptical about the details.
However, since a trusted insider like NateTheHate backs up these claims about the upcoming Direct, it’s important to look at them again. Many fans are eager to know about Animal Crossing, especially since the last game was released five years ago. If BeatEmUps is correct, we could be playing it next year.
Expect A Lot Of Third-Party Announcements
Many questions remain, like the status of the next 3D Mario game, even though Bananza is developed by the Odyssey team. Despite the exciting news about Animal Crossing 2026, BeatEmUps says that a big part of the Direct will focus on third-party titles.
Just like the original Switch, showcasing demanding games on its new hardware is a great way for Nintendo to highlight its capabilities, just as it did with Cyberpunk 2077.
Upcoming titles include Elden Ring, 007 First Light, Borderlands 4, The Duskbloods, and Star Wars Outlaws, so we might see updates on these impressive projects, along with some exciting surprises like The Witcher 3 and Death Stranding. For now, Donkey Kong is in the spotlight with his all-new destructive 3D platformer.
